I installed some baja dome lights inside, these were a much needed upgrade from headlamps and magnetic flashlights. Huge upgrade for us Back at it, Nights like these I'm so happy with this set up. This is the reason I didn't want anything more than a topper. Try to pull...

Soft sided campers definitely have their place. I don't think I would want to deal with -20C or dropping in that kind of set up though. If I could have bought something for my platform that met my needs I would have. It's a huge time commitment and honestly it's still not cheap. If you factor...

Quick update on the exterior progress. Badges mounted and looking awesome. Something that's always bugged me about the camper is the back window (see green line). I mounted it 6" to high, no real reason, it was an honest mistake. I also hate that it it's not tinted like the side windows...

^ wrong type of girl if their not interested in this stuff in my opinion. Sheesh, this will be a big problem if we have kids here soon. Reg cab life does not align with child life haha. Whats next - I will likely pick away at everything slowly and accomplish nothing haha. Finish out the...

The upper box wraps around the back of the inner box by about 11/2" on either side. I secured two pieces of hdpe as slides to control the forward/back movement while lifting. I also installed 4 tabs against the actuators that keep them from tipping more than 1" in either direction. I opted out...

It's my kind of meditation! '14 was a good year for those trucks! It's definitely camping for us. Thanks, appreciate the good words. Quick side project Saturday, Finally got motivation to knock this one off. So happy it's done now.

ITTOG's Truck Camper Build (was 6' x 12' Trailer Conversion)

I went with Sika 221 & rivets. Very forgiving to install and is holding up great. 221 doesn't have as much shear strength as VHB but unless you need that inherent shear, it's irrelevant.

    My OVRLND build

In regards to the add-a-leaf. I agree the typical add-a-leaf kits are not ideal, uneven pressure, stiff ride, etc. I've had very good luck with combining multiple leaf packs with the same arch profile and building "bastard packs". Things to look for are staggered lengths that don't line up with...

^ The only real goal is to get out, anything on top of that is a bonus. More importantly than a goal, we definitely have a cut off, that's typically when the freezers (2) are full. This year, we have back-back-back guests/family visiting from Oct-Mar.... So we were able to justify harvesting a...

It's funny, we occasionally go to the butchers and buy a nice prime rib steak or a chicken as a treat to change it up haha. No big plans for the toyota, just a clean daily. Maybe some better tires in the future. Looks like the damage hasn't gotten tooo much worse. My heart goes out to all those...

Thanks! No idea on weight, definitely 500+. Truck handled the load like a champ. The heavy duty leaf pack (2 extra leafs) takes 1000lbs on the back without issue. We are very fortunate here, no issues at all related to flooding. Merrit and princeton are really having a tough go of it. The hwys...

Before our next trip I had some maintenance issues to resolve. Another Cv bit the dust... New unit in. Every time I repair this front it's a kick in the ass to get going on the solid axle swap. Slip yoke is still bypassing fluid. I either need to find an oe offset seal, or a new slip...
