    campsite pics..lets see um

Not exactly a remote destination but since the tourist season has ended we pretty much had the entire Arches NP campground to ourselves. This was just last week during an impromptu camping trip with the family.

    Radflo 2.0 rear shocks

Can't speak to their rear shocks but I've got a set of Radflo 2.5" coilovers on the front of my FJ and they've been great. I had medium duty OME's on the front for 5 years and the Radflos are much more compliant on-road and off. Their customer service was also exceptional. When the time comes...

Discussion about the expedition trailer customer... want Ritz Carlton on wheels or ??

This is a great topic for discussion and one I'll be following closely given the business venture upon which I'm about to embark here in Moab. You already know my personal preference but I'll offer it here as well so it's part of the community discussion. If I were buying a trailer for me and...

Off Road Tear Drop - Aspen X Trails 11/2012 Build...

These are easily the coolest off-road teardrops I've seen. Looking forward to following this build.

Advice: Cascadia Vehicle Tents Pioneer Trailer

I've got an FJ Cruiser. And a family. And two dogs. We mountain bike, hike, canyoneer, camp, road trip and of course, go wheelin'. Needless to say, the FJ is cramped. So, I'm now looking into off-road trailers. I've looked at pretty much everything on the market (online) and keep coming back...

Project FJ: Building the Ultimate Off-Road Vehicle for Outdoor Photographers

I enjoyed meeting you guys, too. Thanks for taking the time to show me how your rigs are set up. I definitely got some ideas from both of you!

Project FJ: Building the Ultimate Off-Road Vehicle for Outdoor Photographers

Trust me, I've been working on her for a while and I'm making very little headway. Maybe we just need to borrow yours for a trip and she'd be convinced. ;-)

Project FJ: Building the Ultimate Off-Road Vehicle for Outdoor Photographers

This is freakin' genius! Really great, and cheap, solution. I'll have to seriously consider something like this. Thanks for the great idea!

    Adio3x's 5th Gen 4runner Build

How do you like the Nitto Trail Grapplers in 295/70/17 size? I'm running 285/70/17 BFG KM2's on my FJC and want to go just a bit taller and wider. The Nitto's are in the running but don't know anyone who runs them. Any thoughts are appreciated. Sweet 4Runner!

Project FJ: Building the Ultimate Off-Road Vehicle for Outdoor Photographers

We're now moving on to the next phase of my build: bumpers and a winch. Why bumpers and a winch at this step? I'll be honest. If I'm going to spend a fistful of money I wanted something to show for it – the most bang for the buck, if you will. Arguably, nothing changes the look or off-road...

    TRD FJ Cruiser for SEMA

It isn't exactly easy but we make it work. I've got a 3 year old and we do extended camping trips in ours all the time. Having a rooftop tent helps as it frees up storage room inside the FJ. Prior to the rooftop tent we used a Thule box on top, which also worked really well. If I had the...

Project FJ: Building the Ultimate Off-Road Vehicle for Outdoor Photographers

Low profile rack is already on the list for the reasons you listed and to lower the center of gravity a little bit. I haven't decided which rack I'll go with yet as I may opt for a different RTT to free up a little room on the rack for additional gear storage. My only gripe with the FJ is that...

Project FJ: Building the Ultimate Off-Road Vehicle for Outdoor Photographers

I'm a professional landscape and adventure photographer in Moab, Utah. I'm also the proud owner of a 2007 FJ Cruiser. Living where I do and doing what I do, it goes without saying that I spend a fair amount of time exploring well away from paved roads. I'm not one to drive a trail just for...

What camera do you carry on the trails?

Canon 5D MKII, 15mm fisheye, 16-35mm, 24-105mm and 70-200mm lenses, a few filters and a 550EX flash. Always have my trusty Gitzo tripod along for the ride, too. Usually carry my Canon S95 for grab shots.

FJ Cruiser Drawer System & Fridge

Good to know. Thanks for the beta. I haven't decided on a fridge yet but I'm leaning toward the ARB 50 QT. No doubt they're all about the same size, though.

FJ Cruiser Drawer System & Fridge

Great looking shelf unit! Do you have a photo or two of the Engel fridge in the truck on the slider? I'm trying to get an idea of how much space it is going to consume. Thanks!
