Great trailer build. I just went through your entire build, and there a lot of pictures that are not working.

Are roof racks really worth it?

I had a Jeep Cherokee for 13 years and for 12 of those I had a roof rack on it. Most of those years I had permanently mounted a tire, shovel, and high lift jack. Obviously, I must have taken a hit on gas mileage, but it was not noticeable. With it there I traveled as far as Alaska and Mexico...

New to this section of EP

Not to mention the looks. I just can't get into the looks of the second generation of either the Tundra or Tacoma. I really think the 1st Gen. Tundra is the best all around truck platform, good looks, not too big, large interior space, 6.5 ft. bed, V8 power, etc. My family has a one ton 15...

Tire advice for 1st gen Tundra

I am running 285 x 75 17's on my DC Tundra. I did set my Bilsteins at 2" and added AAL springs to rear for added payload. I am running FJ Cruiser wheels, and put a 1.25" spacer on the front to give me a little clearance from my upper control arm.

A Swell outing in the San Rafael

Last summer I took the kids to a little campground less than an hour from home. In the middle of the night, my 12 year old daughter woke me to inform me that she had barfed all over the inside of my tent. The trip turned into a lesson on how to pack in the middle of the night keeping what is...

A Swell outing in the San Rafael

When my oldest was three months old we took her camping for the first time. Then when she was six month old we took her on her first backpack trip. We took both girls backpacking carrying their own water when they were 5 and 7. We take them all camping several nights a year. Sometimes we...

Trans America Trail: A month's journey in a 96 Jeep XJ.

So did the undercoating provide enough friction to keep the Yakima towers in place?

Trans America Trail: A month's journey in a 96 Jeep XJ.

Great thread, and accomplishment. I am curious how you fixed the rain gutter (drip edge) where the Yakima rack was mounted.

    What's your dream rig?

I've had so many different dreams over the years, it's hard to say. Some days it would be my Tundra fully kitted out, sometimes I want my Cherokee back and finally set up the way I wanted. I guess it depends on the day and adventure I'm dreaming of.

A Swell outing in the San Rafael

I have been coming to this spot for nearly 30 years, but I have never noticed or thought about it before that all but one of the ancient pieces of art are painted. It just kind of made me wonder. Leaving the panel, we headed for an, off the beaten path, sight called the Silent Sentinel. I...
