New to the Hobby and New to the boards!

Welcome to the site! The best way to get a rig set up properly, especially with the long method (as you describe it) is to get out and camp and whittle your list of needs and wants down. Once you have a good idea of your needs and desired comforts on a camping trip, you can find ways to add...

Getting the suspension shored up - '94 Dodge 2500

From what I gather, the Overland Shock is designed as part of a kit and the replacements for that kit can be had. They told me they don't sell a 2in spacer for the front, and I'm not interested in new coils for this refresh, as mine look fine and ride fine. I'm trying to go as much 'stock' as...

Getting the suspension shored up - '94 Dodge 2500

I was editing the last post to include those. I sent an email asking if they can be applied to my stock set up. Do you know if they are rebuildable?

Getting the suspension shored up - '94 Dodge 2500

I'm also considering using Lukes Link front end kit, which replaces 4 ball joints and the ball joint and bushing on the sway bar. I would then add MOOG tie rod adjusting sleeves. Luke's Link kit looks like rebuildable and greaseable ball joints, so I could rebuild as needed. Has anyone had any...

Your rig and your adventures give me such confidence in my own truck. People often react surprised when I tell them where i take my 2500. I think I'll only be humbled when I go attempt to find the Fordyce or Rubicon trails.

Getting the suspension shored up - '94 Dodge 2500

I've been playing with borrowed time, so far as my suspension is concerned, and this recent weekend out with the lady and our pooch reminded me how badly I need to replace a bunch of parts underneath the truck. I'm standing by for an email quote for Moog products, with part numbers so i can put...

Atl-atl's Dodge Ram 2500 Regular Cab Long Bed "documentation" thread.

I know you have mentioned this, but I'll take the easy route. What size tires and wheels are you running, and is that a lifted rig? I am weighing options...

3 Years Around North America, Plus a Few More

If you make it down south towards Silver City and the Gila Wilderness, at any point, I have a homestead just off hwy180 near Gila/Cliff, which has ample space and provides a great base for exploration. Lots of dispersed camping in these parts, but if you are ever in town for the Bike race in...

Opinions on using palates for building storage boxes.

Two is a scaled down and (mostly) squared up version of one. Much easier to move around and I still haven't made the top for it yet, so we have a surface to use in the back of the truck in the AM when coffee is needed.

The southwest, and New Mexico in particular, is a very beautiful place. Stark, remote and somewhat forgotten, it really gives you that isolated feeling in some of those places.

FS: '53 Willys in Yuba/Sutter County California (N.Cali)

I AM NOT THE SELLER NOR AM I A BROKER IN ANYWAY. THIS IS PURELY INFORMATIONAL. I don't know enough to evaluate this, as far as a deal goes. I know it looked like surface rust and grease were the major clean ups. I didn't look deep, but I didn't see any obvious cancer spots. I haven't seen this...

Opinions on using palates for building storage boxes.

Good stuff! I was thinking I'm going to make a step/shower platform to throw down at camp. Easier to get in the bed of the truck and a good place to stand to keep feet from being muddy.

I almost looked for a skill saw table mount set up I could copy. I think I'll just use the excuse and get a toy. I'll be posting again when I sand, frame and finish it.

Used a jig this time. Got it to a sixteenth or two off of square. I'm ok with imperfection so long as function is not sacrificed. Cut 2x4's in half. Using that for framing, because that is what I had. Was able to space the boards out a bit better, which made the fit and finish a little...

Opinions on using palates for building storage boxes.

Thanks Ducky, I actually think I will use that recipe. I'm finding a real ownership in building this thing, even though it is just a simple storage box made from scrap lumber. I feel like the whole process of developing an idea into a finished product instills a desire to care for it and make it...

Opinions on using palates for building storage boxes.

Do these mixes come pre-blended or do I mix them myself? I admit, from the research I've done I'm very tempted to get some multipurpose, food grade sealer from HD and just leave it at that. This will see outdoors and weather and such for sure though. I guess I'll keep researching and learning...
