    No dissassemble Number 5!!

I have the mitsuishi manual for the 4M40-T but I wasn't able to remember where I downloaded it from. But the address of the site I linked looks familiar, but the layout wasn't. Haynes manuals seem a bit more wrong than right sometimes though

    No dissassemble Number 5!!

http://free-mitsubishi-manuals.blogspot.ie/2011/05/mitsubishi-4m40-engine-workshop-service.html This is the manual for the 2.8 turbo diesel. Not too sure is it what you are looking for because i don't have the time to read through it right now

    Hood vent project!

A common thing to do here is to put on the vent from a trooper, think it's a fairly simple job or get one from a 2.8 diesel pajero with the factory scoop already built in,which i recently realised you don't get in America. Looks like a power bulge from the drivers seat

    radio antenna.

I had one of these on mine for 2 years,A nice rubberised one that was flexible and didn't break like the metal ones Lasted ages getting brushed off branches and hit off things, but it broke over the summer I now have one of the ones that sticks onto one of the interior windows

I'll get you a part number for them when i'm at home next. Something is stopping them from extending all the way though,so there is still more to go If i can find out what is restricting the rear

I wonder how much it would be to get a lot of them shipped over, they only come on the 2.8td The front bit of the scoop is bolted on,but the rest of it is part of the sheet. My suspension is some 20% stronger lwb springs, cranked torsion bars and +2 90 series land cruiser shocks

I have a pair of them in the back of my shorty. They are the nitro gas ones,+2s meant for a 90 series but I put a sleeve in the bottom rubber and they fit like a glove! They aren't as firm as the ones i had before them, but they were oil filled, but they aren't bouncy either,it's more of a...

Newbie asks: departure angle vs. breakover angle

I know mine is a SWB but even with small enough overhangs they catch when going up hills. But i'd say i've only ever bellied out a handful of times. But that being said i've rarely gotten stuck on my overhangs, whereas when I do belly out it nearly always results in me needing pulled out

    Gen 2.5 shifter bulb replacement?

Are you on about the one next to the gear selector that has the PRND12 on it? You need to empty your cubby box in between the seats, undo the screws at the bottom of it,take off the front bit with the 2 switches/blanks in it,2 screws at the bottom of deep recesses in that, pull up the plastic...

    Restricted articulation

That makes sense to me now actually, its meant more for traction on slippery surfaces than in a cross axled situation. I put fresh LSD oil into the diff during the summer, the old stuff came out looking like Guinness which makes me think that it had never been changed,so that could explain why its...

    Restricted articulation

:Wow1: They look fairly mad! It's something i would consider if i wanted to get properly mad flex. What i was really after was to get the most from the shocks that i put in. Has anyone on here a video of the LSD in their truck being effective? Mine is absolutely rubbish,it only ever seems to...

    Restricted articulation

I think he means you don't need as much articulation if you have a locker which would compensate for the wheel lifting into the air. I've been told by 2 people since yesterday that taking the bolt out of the radius arm is a little dangerous, which after a bit of thinking makes sense, but if only...

    Restricted articulation

Have you lifted the body? So it still could be the arms causing my problem. I was thinking If it is the arms restricting my travel i could replace the nut and bolt with a bar and a pin,and yank it out whenever I want the extra flex

    Restricted articulation

Hmm maybe it isn't the arms restricting the movement. I'll have a peek under it at some point again and see is there anything binding. The picture above is the kind of travel i'm expecting. I must just check is my spaced out bumpstop spaced far enough out before i go doing any mad testing. I...

    Restricted articulation

Thats quite smart actually, but would it not be putting a lot of stress on the eye that is connected? I saw a pic online of one where it actually cracked the eye :Wow1: I'm not getting any crazy articulation,I should maybe try disconnect the shock and see what the limits of the suspension...

    Restricted articulation

Hello all. I just put some extended shocks into my gen2 SWB over the weekend, and removed the rear anti roll bar in the hunt for more articulation. But i've noticed that the shock won't fully extend on the side that should be extending. I've removed the anti roll bar,and its not the flexy pipe...

1992 Montero - Already built, build thread!

I'd be more inclined to go for the 4M40T over the 4D56 if i were you and you had the choice. I found the 2.5L a small bit underpowered compared to the the 2.8L. And the 2.5 is quite low geared for cruising,at 60mph it will be doing around 3000RPM which is high for a diesel, and ends up being...

    Expedition Pajero LWB

I've seen that happen once or twice over there alright How much work was it to fit the defender coils into your pajero? Did they just go straight in or was there a bit of tweaking in order to get the springs in? I've the HD LWB ones in mine at the minute, but wouldn't mind a little bit more...

    Expedition Pajero LWB

That is one awesome build. How did you do a full manual conversion,or did you alter the final drive of the box? I'd like to do something that would lower the revs while cruising, currently my 2.8 doing about 2200 at 60mph. I put a switch that locks up the gearbox which makes it a lot better...
