Easy integration - lat long points, photos & notes. Is it possible?

I'm on the road now, using apeture 3, a nikon d3 with a red hen gps tethered to a mac book pro. It works flawlessly!!

Easy integration - lat long points, photos & notes. Is it possible?

GPSNavX has some interesting features that could be useful but no way to integrate photos that I can see. My guess is that I probably need a piece of software that does not exist yet! My plan for the next trip (tomorrow) is to take photos with a Nikon D2 with a Red Hen gps & make notes on the...

Easy integration - lat long points, photos & notes. Is it possible?

I know anything is possible! But, does software exist that would help me accomplish this goal? I need to be able to drive a route and have my navigator/assistant mark specific points, take a photo or photos of that point, & make notes about that point. Oh, and all this real time with the camera...

What are thoughts on the 460 motor?

Great motor in my opinion with no real reliability issues. 10 mpg is spot on in my experience, 1990 F350 4x4 crewcab long bed - 10mpg in town, on the highway, & towing a trailer! Awesome truck!

    ARB Fridge question

I've got the bag on mine & really like it, lots of benefits mentioned above... one thing I don't like is the velcro attachment. I'm sure when outside temps get to 120f the adhesive will get sticky & messy. Very nice quality & fit though.

    Snow Photos - LR3

I can see how the ability to "pump" snow is a valid point - there have been several instances where I became stuck that I had a sizable mound of snow in front of the rear tires. If the tires had the ability to grab the snow in that mound and relocate it behind the tire I think it would make a...

    Snow Photos - LR3

To the right of the trail in the first photo I posted is where I found the deepest snow... 2.5 - 3' deep. In that photo the LR is doing a good job staying "afloat". :) And I thought this was kinda cool...

    Snow Photos - LR3

Yes, they are Cooper tires & are they any good in the snow? Thats a tough question to answer, in part due to the fact I have never used any other tire on the LR3 in the snow. That said, here's my review; The first trip I took to the snow was early December 09, Crown King, AZ. There wasn't much...

    Snow Photos - LR3

007, I had the same experience with respect to tire pressure - didn't seem to make much difference in traction till I got down to 12psi. Chains wont clear the upper ball joints or wheel wells with my tires so no option there! Curious what part of the chain broke? I really wish I would have had...

    Roof Rack dilemna

I recently had the chance to tour a proving ground facility and there just happened to be some LR3's (could have been 4's?) doing some evasive maneuver testing with multiple water tanks strapped to the roof, my guess is somewhere around 40-50 gallons. It was enough weight bottom the front...

    Snow Photos - LR3

Had a great time playing in the snow yesterday & thought I'd share a few photos. Lots of powder with an underlying icy layer, ended up airing down to 12psi. The snow was mid thigh deep, great fun!

    LR3 Wheels & Tires 17 vs 18 vs 19

Thank you very much for the info Nathan, I think given the huge selection of 18" tires available it would be foolish of me not to go that route.

    LR3 Wheels & Tires 17 vs 18 vs 19

Thats right, I forgot about the bigger brakes on the V8... so forget the 17's! I know the 18" wheels will work better off road, but HOW much better? And how much difference in streetability will there be with BFG AT's VS MTR's? The 19" MTR's from tire rack are $1,252, the 18" BFG's are $984...

    LR3 Wheels & Tires 17 vs 18 vs 19

Hello, I recently bought a new to me 2005 LR3 HSE, it has the 19's with Michelin Syncrones. I had planned to sell the tires & wheels that came on it, buy a set of 18's and mount some BFG AT's and call it good. But, I got a little ahead of myself the other night and decided to take a little off...

LR3 with only 45K has major failure

Well, then it's obvious you have the experience needed to determine that the stamped steel isn't going to cut it offroad (BTW, I don't disagree) & that the LR3 is nothing but a nice minivan that can barely go offroad! :) I really am glad to hear your just as opinionated in person! Seriously.

    best wiper blades?

I just bought some Michelin silicone blades, no frame, they look good and have worked better than the old frame style for me. I cannot speak to longevity, but its probably at a mimium equal to a "regular" blade.
