Before I do it, Window Tint ???

I have dark tint on all of my windows, including the windshield, came that way when I bought it. I know in Ohio you must have 50 % light able to pass through to be legal and this thing aint legal!! But yes it does keep the temps down inside. Guess I will leave it on until I get stopped and or...

2002 Dodge Ram 2500 -buying tips?

Better to find it now than after you bought it, but yes, still suxs! Not sure what your budget is, but if you are able to find a sweet deal on a Cummins, take it. (Like you don't already know that...) Anyways, I love the Dodge trucks and hope you find what you are looking for.

DOG ramp, access, ladder, lift, up?

You can custom make a folding ramp like has been brought up, and probably fit your needs better than buying one. Either way, a folding ramp type system is a must with large dogs. In the long run it will save your back and wear and tear on the dogs hips.

    Truck bed tents

I was going to start a new thread on this but found this one. My question is what's the benefits of a truck bed tent over getting a truck cap and sleeping inside the truck cap. Seems like an air mattress would work until you built a platform. I like the looks of the truck bed tent but you...

The Suburban back end door debate

Barn doors were my choice and I loved them! They open wider than you think and I frequently hauled full sheets of plywood and other building materials with ease in loading/unloading.

    Raising/Training kids for Overland Travel?

That is a great idea I hadn't thought of. Sounds good for the drive but what about the "roughing" it part, primitive camping? What have you found that works getting them used to that?

    Raising/Training kids for Overland Travel?

a lot of it is how you start them out. I have 4 kids 14, 7, 5 and 16 months. All are used to pulling a travel trailer and camping in populated campgrounds. When I bring up tent camping/backpacking, my 14year old acts like I am asking for her left arm! It's not impossible just difficult to...

Full Size (LARGE) Family Adventure Rig - Selection Question

I would look at more comfortable vehicles for your passengers (wife and kids) like a diesel Excursion or older 3/4 ton Suburban. I have 6 in my family, 4 are kids, one with special needs and I just traded my suburban for a 1 ton Dodge Cummins Quad cab pick up. I prefer the pickup for hauling...

    Rocky Mountain 87 Burban build

I don't care who you are, having the kids out there wheelin' with you is just plain COOL!! That's something they will never forget. My 14 year old is so used to campers in campgrounds, when I talk about tent camping she acts like it's the worst thing you could ask! Love the roof racks on...
