Unclear why you "hate" the weight...what specially about the weight are you referring to that you can explicitly state is the result of the weight? I personally think it may be a waste of time and money to save a mere 40 lbs. 40 lbs won't make are brake anything when it come to the vehicle...
if you plan to wheel the LR3 and because of its weight, I'd suggest sticking with the factory 18" rims are they are built to take on the task of carrying the monstrous weight of the LR3. A lot of rims are very cheaply made.

Thanks for the additional details. It would have been helpful to state this level of detail in your initial post where you called out that the 52 qt blew thru 20 lbs in 24 hours and implied the cooler wasn't any good:
I don't think its just an issue of opening/closing but more so with the ice-to-content ratio. Someone a few posts back complained of a 52 qt completely melting in 24hr and come to find out they ONLY had 20 lbs of ice to begin with and yet the cooler was completely full. I used 20 lbs of ice in...

26 Qts in stock right now on walmart.com: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-26-Quart-High-Performance-Cooler-Grey/49229405
As are the two Orzark soft sides:

You either need to (1) take it back to them showing the data you've collected and compare that to the data they collected or (2) go get a second option on the alternator behavior.
When my LLAMS arrived it also stated no need to calibration per the instructions if installing on an lr3, but like you're experiencing now my suspension was all over the place as soon as I plugged it in and started the LR3. I decided to recalibrate and all was good after that. It takes about...
