I did it for my Roamin Chariot. I did 3/4 bottom ply with three 2*6s on their side. One on each side and one down the middle with another 3/4 ply on top. Then some really long drawers with no slides that just hung in between the two 3/4 ply sheets. I then just added a lock and it was a great...
Chris was super nice to come down to expo and show off his camper! Many people commented it was their favorite rig at the show. Made some videos before the show that show the walk around of what you all have been seeing in this thread. Thought some of you would like to see it in action.
Yes! I think it would be pretty easy to modify the rear to do this and could probably be a separate removable assembly.... that way you could remove it, to haul sheet goods.
Unfortunately because we build one offs we aren't in a place to do full size barn doors yet. We are working on a design to implement this, but who knows when it will be.
You got it.... I wish it could be an option to put the full bed in the cab over section, but with it the resulting forces would be ridiculous. All of the calcs I have run for the design are with the 40.5" and offer a high factor of safety for my calculated weights. Again I am more than happy to...
The Cab over is usually a fixed length of 40.5", though I wont go longer I can easily go shorter. I have two orders coming through that are just a pop top camper shell with no cab over. Between the cabover and the cab of your truck I like to keep around 1.5"-2" of space for bed flex. I can make...
I have yet to build one for a dodge. Tundra being build right now, then Gen 2 Tacoma, then there will be a Chevy 1500 Silverado. The Tundra and Chevy will be the first two full size through. Solar is not an issue at all. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email.
Someday I would like to, but for now I'm just going to stick to the half barn. Without having the truck in possession it would be hard to get it right. If this is something you really wanted I could build one if I could have your truck for a couple of weeks:).
I know some of you will be interested in this and were talking about the barn doors earlier in this thread. Here is a video that might answer some of your questions.
Just the build thread over on Tacoma World as of now. Since I'm so new I am working through the order list. Hopefully a bunch of my customers will document their builds. I have also had requests to add some interior woodwork to some and will make sure that those get documented on the website.
Many people have asked about insulation for the camper and more importantly how it would look. My Partner was able to do both sies in about thirty minutes. Next up is the roof and a velcro on fabric layer to clean it up. it fits flush inside and press fits nicely... no glue needed. I dont have...
