    OVRLND camper topper

Like any tent or camper there is some especially on a cooler night. This can easily be reduced by fastening some insulation and fabric to the walls and ceiling like other slide in camper. It will still of course bead up on the canvas.

Thanks! if you're ever in the are let me know and ll give you a tour. No rattling issues at all. I have taken mine all over the AZ strip, down house rock, through the honeymoon trail, out to Toroweep, out to white pocket, and not a single noise. There is quite a bit of motion between the cab...

I saw that, and though Im sure I could find a brake in Phoenix I am against that kind of construction for a few reasons. 1 - custom fit to any truck. With a brake I would probably have to do size runs to bring the cost down. I also like the ability to change certain things as I build one or...

    OVRLND camper topper

Hey all, I have been speaking to many of you and a common comment was pricing. My goal going into this was to make a super affordable livable camper with the original goal of sub $5000. Though due to labor this price target was quickly out the window. With the expansion of a new shop space and...

I was going to suggest the same thing. Those seals work pretty well. I can do barn doors but you would end up with essentially the same seals. I have a friend with a frontier so sizing the doors wouldnt be a big deal. I also have a lot of requests for leaving the gate as your "back porch"...

    OVRLND camper topper

Sounds awesome. I have had some serious interest in a flatbed model, so hopefully one will make it out of the shop in the next year. I like the idea of combining with a service body, keeping most of the gear easily accessible. When are you going to start your build?

    OVRLND camper topper

Thanks! It's been a long time coming. All the pricing can be found on my website campovrlnd.com. For smaller trucks I start at $7400 and for full size $7900. Any accessories/design changes are just the part price plus hourly labor after that. Most design changes are just material cost due to it...

    OVRLND camper topper

I had some folks come up to me at the expo and say it was hard to tell from the pictures how big this thing is on the inside (Lance). Here are some pics I took some pictures to try and give it some justice. For reference I am 6' tall. with a 6' truck ed and with the queen bed fully extended...

Aluminum Framed Truck Camper - How are they built?

So you found the same article I read... I dont know what process of mig it happens to be. Im sure wit their output they have some pretty talented people to weld up anything. I chose box style because it is easier to change frame to frame. If you want along bed, or short bed I dont have to...

Heres some pictures for all of you showing how the extruded aluminum rails work in conjuction with one on the bed of the truck. Using simple T nuts and aluminum/wood it took me a couple of hours to build up giving me tons of storage and a place to cook and work.

Aluminum Framed Truck Camper - How are they built?

FWC and ATC use .040 6063-T5. They weld each of the 4 sides and then weld them together. Once they have the bottom box welded they will put the 8" extruded piece around that will form the bed platform. ATC and FWC both Tig, but I think over the past couple years FWC has migrated to spool fed...

    OVRLND camper topper

When it rains it pours. It's great that there are some many new affordable options to choose from now, rather than a craigslist bidding war on a 1980s FWC. I know Idaho is extremely nice in the summer but if you find yourself this way sometime feel free to let me know and I'll give you a camper...

Nice, its been hot here, so I can only imagine the heat you all are seeing already! Ill get a video up in no time about how quick it pops and collapses. Currently there is 6.5 or so inches when closed. I will include the 3" pads with it which will take up most of that room, though the memory...

    OVRLND camper topper

Thanks. That's the idea, keep it light and simple with all the comfort of a standard pop-top camper. After having lived in the old Roamin Chariot wedge and now sleeping in this thing, it's no wonder why FWC and ATC have been so successful.

haha, you could say that. Yeah, 8ft wouldnt be an issue though there will be a material and time price difference for the bigger rigs. The camper would be sweet with tons of space.
