Dog bed placed
Currently the plan is to bungee bed rolls/sleeping pads, and roll up dog beds to the back wall.
Got around to getting the wood cut, drilled, carpeted, mounted, and the platform installed. Rough estimate is a gain of about 13.5-15 cubic feet gained in storage. Bonus is our little travel dog bed fits perfectly in the space and will ensure the pups are comfortable and as safe as they can be...
The longer of the seats is getting removed, leaving the single seat behind the driver. Put together a simple metal platform, that will get a carpeted wood top. Luckily a buddy recently did the exact same thing and we slapped it together pretty quick. Still need to get a piece of ply, carpet, and...
Doing a partial rear seat delete and making a platform to give the dogs a bit extra room, as well as create some extra room for our gear.
Pulled the entire rear seat, rear pillar trim, and rear wall trim to lay some 80mil sound deadening to offset not having a seat absorbing any sound. Holy...
Little catastrophe prevention work done. Both of these T connections come from the factory as plastic parts. While not typically an issue, with the extra shock and vibration the truck gets off pavement, these have become a known weak point in the system especially as the vehicle gets more miles...
Almost 50k truck, between 16 and 18k on the titan swap. Zero issues. Depends on loadout for MPG but between 13 and 14.5 in town loaded vs. empty, and highway I've seen big variances depending on where I'm going. If there are mountain passes involved or into headwind or tailwind etc. etc. I've...
It's just fine. Should stretch out without a problem. You'll love the tent. I've been running an RV-3 for 4 years now and have had zero issues minus having to patch one section of the floor due to a random ass piece of obsidian at a camp spot. (just glad my hand or foot didn't find it)
Thanks! After seeing this style I couldn't go with a plastic one. I know of only 1 other in the states, both of us went with Meredith Metalworks.
I still need to get a sealed aftermarket airbox and mate them up, but even with the stock airbox and some torrential rain and a couple deeper...
It was maintenance and repair day. Weld washers for the lower control arms, to solve the "radflo clunk" and a new CV as I destroyed the boot over a year ago and have been a lazy POS and not repaired it yet.
Here you can see the front lower shock mount has wallowed out slightly.
The weld...
Titan front suspension set up, which depending on the shock choice can more than double your suspension travel. Titan parts are also a bit beefier so you get added strength.
Welcome from the always sunny Seattle area!
I struggle with the fact that I should've gotten an xterra vs. my frontier all the time. Nice find, and looking forward to the build progress!
If you're in the Spokane area, and can drop into the shop absolutely do it. If not their online instructions are quite good, and their customer service will happily and accurately get you sorted out.
The real problem is going to be wanting another pair or three.
Kinda recent upgrade/switch to the build, I talked to Tim at Heavy Metal Offroad about a custom height set of bed rack bars. He had them sorted and shipped out within a single week. Phenomenal customer service there.
I then had them powder-coated to match the truck and eventually got around to...
On anything with a zipper over the years that has been tight I've always used a tiny bit of this. From boots, to tents, to suitcases, to dog beds - you name it. It works really, really well. Should help reduce the force required to zip/unzip.
I've done a bunch of looking at various hardshell tents, I'll likely end up with a JB.
There are horror stories about every single brand out there, and some people sing every brand praises despite having horror story themselves. I would say if you have a dealer that is local to you, you should...
