    Desert Rendezvous, 2011 version

Someone had suggested we take tread lightly a step further and have a little cleanup at camp, with raffle prizes for everyone who contributed. Not money – trash. Some awesome vendors stepped up and donated prizes – Trasharoo, Sierra Expeditions, Adventure Trailers, Overland Journal, Overland...

    Desert Rendezvous, 2011 version

Next morning, some folks went exploring out in the desert, some ventured to old mines or geode beds, and others went out for some target practice. Everyone did what they wanted, very low key. Some of us stayed near camp and I went around checking out the rigs. Here's just a few...

    Desert Rendezvous, 2011 version

Gear showed up with his new toy, definitely the cleanest Pinz I’ve ever seen. He let some of us drive it around – this thing handles nice! Thanks Justin … it looks a little lonely here, but that didn’t last long. Just a few days before the event, Tacodoc, AT & Zach conspired to bring...

    Desert Rendezvous, 2011 version

This gathering was the brainchild of Tacodoc, after his trip to the area with XJ_Mike, XJ_Lisa and XJ_Dad last Thanksgiving. Some of us chatted about it at the Toys for Tots event, and Doc put the online word out – did we want to go? Yes, it seems we did! Overall it was a huge success...

unURBAN Adventures - Alaska to Argentina to AFRICA!

Your thread has become one of my favorite reads, and the pics - wow! Weezerbot and I were just talking about you last weekend, how you manage to find some of the coolest spots no matter where you are. Nice to have a flexible plan, and find like-minded folks to aim you toward the hidden gems...

Our new North American Overland Combo; GMC Sierra 4x4 + Bigfoot 2500

You are going to be SO comfy in that Bigfoot. It was after many years of not camping that I reconnected with my best friend from college, and she had this exact setup. Bigfoot 2500 on a GMC turbo diesel, and we ran all over NW Washington in it. Great fun, total comfort. Then I went home...

    JK/J8 Flippac rumor??

I finally got to crawl around in the habitat and I gotta say, it's pretty freaking awesome. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really liked it. It feels HUGE in there, and very comfortable. Nice house for a little ole jeep, good job AT

Would the FlipPac be a good choice for my 2011 Reg. Cab Tacoma?

Why do you think it won't work? The flippac fits most everything. A 6ft tacoma bed would be one of the standard sizes for a flippac, unless they've done something really strange to Tacomas this year. The FWC and ATC slide-in campers (and others) are pretty popular too, without having to...

    Nissan Titan/FRP Flippac Build

OK now I'm getting it. I was wondering why the awning off the back, makes perfect sense now. You've got yourself a great solution there for bad weather cooking and so on. The new fridge/stove slide will be great with that setup. New dual-swingout bumpers too? You're going to town on that...

    FlipPac hood pin substitue?

Well you can open it manually by pushing up from inside once the latches are unlocked, but generally speaking - yes, you need the crank. Here's some pics of me opening mine: a little video adventureduo made of mine: RdKmw5XXLHA and Mario from AT showing the whole process: r84XokfGlWA...

    FlipPac hood pin substitue?

I'm going down to FRP hopefully Monday to pick up something else. If you're talking about these gizmos: they call them "fender pins". Just add a little washer and a cotter pin and you're set: You don't really need those unless you have the tent deployed and attach the stabilizer bars...

The folks that sell the Flip Pac

Diane told me the story of your flippac some time ago, and then you showed up there! They were so surprised to see it again. I think they were very gracious about the whole thing, considering they were never paid for it. Certainly wasn't your fault either. Welcome to flipping! Post some...
