Well, I packed up and headed to the local U Pull and U pay. They had one 2001 3.5 gen 3 there and luckily it had the MAFS. 29.99 later and I toss it on, PROBLEM SOLVED. Sick. Can 100 percent confirm the 3.5L montero MAF works on the 3.8.

No issues on that front (Been driving on it like that for a few thousand miles now), no power difference I can tell, mileage is almost the same. On a side note (and hopefully unrelated to the above lol) went to start it this morning and am getting P0102 mass or volume airflow circuit low...

I was able to shave a bit off the bumper cover and it is tight but it shuts with a 285/75/16 M/T on there!
