I'm also running 265/75/16 e load ko2. A little stiff on the road. They are like 21 lbs heavier each than a "stock" tires. I feel it does make a difference in braking.
I have black fiberglass bump top cap for sale. It has a heavy duty yakima roof rack, swing up side doors, and removable tool/ storage boxes on the inside of side doors. Rear and side doors were ordered with aluminum instead of glass for extra security and privacy. It's in very good shape. Made...
I'm looking at getting a used dometic portable refrigerator/ freezer. It's a cf35? It is 6 years old, wondering how long it could keep going? Priced about 30% of a new one.
Thanks
Can anyone running the urethane bushings comment on road "feel", and transfer of impact and washboard vibration with these over rubber? I need to do front and rear control arm bushings, along with a few more and am wondering how much harsher the ride would be.
Thanks
Hi all. Looking to put some surrounding lights on my roof rack. Where is the best place to exit the the cab or cargo area with the power supply wires? I will soon have a dedicated house battery in the rear of the Montero, if that makes things simpler.
Thanks
I got the belt on and tensioned correctly. Quadruple checked all the timing marks after rotatingseveral times with the pin in and out before I put the front end back together. It runs really smooth, but still had the valve train noise. I did the rpm/ idle cycling from the service manual. It...
Thanks for the replies. I actually read all of those before deciding to do the work myself. The noisy lifter thing, does kind of sound possible. I believe the noise was coming from both heads, and I know that if there was piston to valve contact, it would have most likely been #1 cylinder. I...
Yes I did rotate a couple times after setting tension before I ran it, and all the timing marks lined up then. But after running it was one notch off on crank gear. I did rotate the camshafts separate from the crankshaft without the belt that is where my concern with the bent valves comes from.
Is valve damage a sure thing with cam shaft rotation and piston stroke? I'm thinking that rotating the crankshaft by hand with the camshaft pulleys on timing marks could have bent some valves.
I'm going to try reinstalling the belt with all the timing marks lined up and see if the noise goes...
After buttoning up everything on my '01 Montero xls, there sounded like top end noise. I've pulled everything back apart down to reinstalling the timing belt. Should the return side of the belt have a little slack before getting on the crankshaft gear? I can get both cam indicator s lined up...
I am wondering if the front differential driveshaft should always turn when in 2 wheel drive? When I had the front end raised, and spun the tires, the differential and driveshaft spin too. 4 wheel drive seems to work fine and I think all the indicator lights in the gauge cluster are working...
I had the same issue with the montero I got a few months ago. Drove it from Norfolk to Florida with the steering wheel really shaking back and forth. I took it and had the tires force balanced for $100. Problem solved 95%. Btw, the bf Goodrich at ko3 only had 700 miles on them after initial...
