For the amount of swearing I do on MS weekly for how dumb their OS is you'll forgive me if I don't hop on your bandwagon. Give me UNIX any day over the retrograde file system, process, user access control and memory management in Windows.
That said, I'm looking forward to playing with Windows...
I've been stranded by:
the accessory drive on the front of the engine failing such that a pulley is missing (disintegrated PS pump),
lack of or generally poor maintenance,
weak alternator/charging, and
load control failures (e.g. stuff falling off the trailer/truck and not having more gear to...
I bought a set of these for my new (to me) Ford Expedition about a month ago (305/65-18). They are great on highway, quiet, like, not much different from my Audi quiet. I don't know how they will work off-road yet as the truck isn't ready to be beat on yet. I won't know about snow performance as...
Don't forget that these Bronco threads are read by a niche group of a wheeling subgroup which in itself is a subculture of automotive gear heads which is probably a single digit percentage of the population at large.
So, yeah... don't read anything into that.
The problem with the stock / OEM TTB is that techs don't know how to align them and once the springs are old enough to sag the ride height gets messed up and.... techs don't know how to align them.
The high beams are great, almost as good as the HIDs on my Audi but the low beams are lacking. About the same as stock - doesn't meet today's expectations. I may change out the bulbs and see where that leads.
If you aren't locked into the software ecosystem of a mobile platform yet I'd give a strong recommendation to Android.. We have multiples of everything in our household and for work I am constantly surrounded by both in a support role. I prefer the flexibility and relative openness of Android...
The solid front axle thing is a red herring to whether a truck will sell IMO. The population at large doesn't care. Most people that use their trucks off road don't really care for the most part any more either.
Around here there is a fairly large contingent of Jeepers and Jeep clubs that go...
They are not without issues with the tires I have. I ended up using a 8mm spacer in the front, will likely add one to the rear. Thinking about doing a full 1" spacer in the front. Will install longer wheels studs in the front when I replace the wheel hubs over the winter.
Smaller (i.e. narrower...
Here's some pics of my new to me Expedition:
Engine/ drivetrain fluids has been baselined, 2" rear coil spacers, new tires and wheels (18x9.5 - 305/65-18), new headlights.
Lots of project work ahead this winter to get ready for next summer.
Some great information in this thread.
One thing that I don't see mentioned a lot is how soft coil springs, dampers, disconnnected sway bars and low tire pressures affect how easily a truck can tip over, especially when the truck is a RTI ramp champ.
Once the body is mostly decoupled from the...
If you have a 1st gen iPad w/ 3G just use that until you feel a need to upgrade. It has a built in GPS receiver so its gud-2-go. There's really little to be gained to upgrade. Sure, a new device is always nice/fun but get your work flow sorted with what you have first before throwing money at...
