Selling my 2016 1190 Adventure R. Bike has 1332 miles on the odometer. It is basically broken in for it's new owner. 600mile service was completed @ Gforce Powersports in Boulder. Bike is bone stock with no accessories/modifications. It has seen about 10 miles of dirt. It is ready to go...
You will miss out on Very little with a vehicle as big as an excursion in Colorado, at least an excursion with 37's and a rear locker. I can probably count the trails on two hands you COULDNT drive an excursion on. And you probably wouldn't want to drive them in a Taco or FZJ either.
I wheel...
gen 1 crew tundra
Check out some gen 1 (2005-2006) crew cab tundras. I think you might be surprised by them.
- reliable
- good wheelers
- not expensive to do mild mods
- 6.5' bed in 140" wheel base
- reasonably priced
- good v8 power
- roomy back seat.
wheeling ability
Ford or dodge HD trucks will have the best potential for wheeling.
F150 or Dodge 1500 in 1/2 ton flavor are pretty good wheelers as are the Tundras.
If you are coming from a Jeep, you will find GM products lacking in off road capability. This is personal opinion based on...
full size
I wheel full size crew cab long bed trucks all over Colorado. Lots of places where the only other vehicles are atv's. They fit anywhere you want them to. You can fit them where ever you have the skill to fit them.
Diesel is way more maintenance than gas. Parts are more money too...
Calling all the overpriced lighting experts:
I am looking to upgrade my stock fogs on my 2016 RAM 3500 with a set of Rigid Dually lights which will eventually get moved into an AEV bumper.
My primary desires are:
1. increased range driving at 80mph+ on back roads in CO/WY/MT/UT with lots of...
Well put elk hunter. thanks for the compliments!
At the end of the day.....buy what your wallet can handle and for your intended use. I will say I think there are very few folks out there willing to abuse their trucks hard enough to reap the value of a set of Carli Pintop kings, you won't...
shocks
Most of the cost increase in the Carli kit vs the AEV kit is the shocks. The King or Fox shocks they offer ARE much higher quality shocks capable of taking more abuse and allow for much greater valving control and fluid volume due to increased body diameters and remote reservoirs. Take...
Contractor and explorer tester
I will be happy to take you up on the offer to test out a Decked storage system!
I would be a good tester for you as I am both a general contractor and an avid explorer of the Mountain west! I use took boxes in my bed with a topper daily and am constantly...
It's ok
I did it too. Those die hard LC guys don't know what they are missing trying to cram a family of 5, dogs and camping gear into those tiny old LC's
My 97' 80 series (it was a beast on some of the most difficult trails in CO)

corrections
MarAgt and Ducky's Dad sums up the AEV better than I do. Listen to them not me. My personal opinion is that there are more cost effective ways to gain equal or better off road suspension performance than the AEV kit. The only reason I would ever lift a truck is to gain off road...
again
Wow, AEV really has some great marketing if they have you convinced than an AEV ram is "something special".
A stock power wagon is MORE capable than an AEV ram that isn't built on a power wagon. A PW comes from the factory with lockers. Buy a regular AEV ram that isn't a PW and you...
Tires are D rated 8 ply. 3 ply sidewall. They have a 3500lbs + capacity. They do have tough sidewalls, I have run a set of these hard on some of the toughest trails in Colorado (holy cross, blanca, trough) and never even nicked the sidewall. I have never run a set past half tread depth, so I...
If you are looking for that body style dodge then yes, the power wagon is exaclty the same size as any other 2500/3500. Dodge didnt come out with a true crew cab until 4th gens in 2010.
The power wagon is the exact same wheel base as other dodge crew/shoet bed and a ford with an extended cab and shord bed. 140". You are making a mistake if you count the power wagon out. Check your numbers.
wheeling
By the way, you can take a CCLB pretty far off road if you aren't afraid of damaging it. Back tire is about 4' off the ground in this one. Only other vehicles on this trail were quads, and 1 4runner on 37's.

cab lights
The topper lights are a factory option from ARE. I totally re-wired and put in a rocker switch drilled into the bed side though. They come with a crappy dome light switch that broke about 10 times and topper guys wiring sucks. They like to just wire nut things together down by the...
