Modern rechargeable are lithium; designed to be charged and depleted and recharged; maximum battery life comes from full cycle use and not recharging over and over. Alkaline leak, just by design they are meant to be temporary and throwaway as they are sealed but significantly degrade with...
This might be off kilter to say this but how about running another redirect for another purpose; this allows the heater to run at optimal conditions which leads to a cleaner burn and "in theory" better maintenance cycle?
Maybe run the tent and an inlet into the vehicle cabin or engine bay? I...
Love the Tent-Kot with Exped; I mean it doesn't get much more compact and comfy than this setup. With the rainfly, it's absolutely marvelous and straps to the roof, down, and set up in less than 3 minutes!
Advice from a guy who's on a Land Rover forum telling the Land Rover community, the Toyota community, the Jeep community, and the "OVERLAND World" what the "OFF-ROAD" community needs; drives a practical F150 but can't even prove that part!
Do we really need to say more about relevant opinion...
Also retired, with a pension, and my own contracting consulting gig working 50% max and loving life. The plan is to have your dilemma and be done working completely by age 50 with the right quality of life and proper toys for smiles. Life is pretty good; I should say that I "won't" afford a D5...
Not gonna get in your wheel-house on the finances but sounds like its one or the other and that is a dilemma for sure. My LR3 will stay and the D110 (4cyl) would be my new advanced toy and 60% daily driver since I have a nice commuter car; if I pulled the trigger on the new D110. I couldn't...
Like so many of us have said so many times ?; until the next time he posts.

@JackW I am following you on this one and think the same thing and hope for success. Agreed it is not for towing and if towing is a necessity then the buyer really has to put that into play on a purchase of any vehicle and not just that of the new Defender.
I would LOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE to see the...
Yeah I have no clue really as I just bought my heater and have not set it up yet. I have been reading and many people are all over the board on what works and what doesn't; I like to see legit testing data to help me set up my best case scenario if possible.
Good information as I expect that...
I have 2 x Megamats that I can use for single or dual sleeping purposes. I love them; I wouldn't hand carry/pack on a trail due to size and weight but they are awesome for vehicle camping excursions.
Super Sale on REI I think as we speak!
Such a bad idea for you to buy this; probably the most horrible purchase of your life. My best advice is you call me and let me take this off your hands so it can be "My New Money-Pit" and not yours!:p:D:ROFLMAO::LOL:
All joking aside, she's a beauty man; congrats to you and the family on your...
Great points and how I feel; the cost is still eating at me but I look at modifications and OEM bolt on kit and feel there can be some significant cost savings for other parts that will fit now with minor modification and/or will fit when aftermarket suppliers catch up with JLR deliveries.
For...
Somehow I wish I would have attempted to do this to the rear of my LR3; although not the same space arrangement, it surely would be awesome to have a setup like this in a modern Rover.
I think his point is that 25mm (1") is optimal for the suspension and not the tire. My thoughts are that the need for tires larger than 32" on an LR3/4 is degrading the performance of the vehicle as it was designed. You get another 3" or so with the off-road height compared to normal height...
Ahhhhh, there are lots of us out there still doing stuff. I'm just busting your bag; if you have a Jeep and an LR3 your truly have the best of both worlds IMO.
So true on the haters and thrashers on something that is stepping off to be something pretty awesome. Never can get used to the...
And for Jeep, their innovation has proven they still can't get or progress above a marginal safety level by "any" year standards. The vast majority of Jeeps are NOT used in any fashion to what you claim they are ONLY doing. So by definition, Jeep is selling for profit knowing the vast majority...
