It might be easier than you think.
Rear seat room in a Double Cab Tacoma: Head 38.5", Leg 32.6"
Rear seat room in a Double Cab GM 1/2: Head 38.7", Leg 34.6"
My point is that the "Double Cabs" are pretty close..... even though it's the bigger Taco and the smaller 1/2 ton.
A typically equipped Crew Cab All Terrain 4x4 is already $45K..and that's with a cloth interior
A loaded Silverado LTZ or Sierra SLT 4x4 is well over $50K with a gasoline 5.3L
A Ford F150 Supercrew Platinum 4x4 starts over $54K with a EcoBoost V6 gas
I don't make the prices. I understand that...
6.2L motors have not been produced for the public yet (no regular cabs either), so you won't find any at dealers.
The 3.08s are pretty rare in a crew 4x4, most have 3.42s. Those trucks with the 3.42s are rated to tow 9,600 pounds. That's plenty for a half ton, in my opinion. The 3.73 "Max Tow"...
Great observations, they match up to my own pretty well. I'm driving a 2014 Silverado 5.3L Crew LTZ Z71 right now for a work project, and the more I drive it the more I like it. Pretty easy to get 20mpg around town (urban/suburban metro mix).
Gearing is the biggest reason the Taco feels faster...
Why would it matter? All half ton trucks have IFS. Every single one of them. Every brand. If you need a solid front axle, then you buy a 3/4 ton or bigger. This thread is about half tons, so I'm not sure why IFS plays a role in it. Moot point.
I suppose, however, that many people responding...
The GMC Acadia/Chevrolet Traverse interiors are 87" long (7'3") from the front center console to the liftgate, and a minimum of 49" wide (4'1") and the floor is flat when the second and third row seats are folded (takes 20 seconds, literally). So they are quite comfortable sleeping quarters for...
In those years the 6.2L is the better motor of the three (6.0 and 5.3). Especially a 2007 which would not yet have the 6 speed transmission where the 6.2L Denali XL would. The 6.2L gets much better fuel economy than the 6.0L, and doesn't suffer the same issues with active fuel management (8 to 4...
First, it wouldn't be the current World Ranger platform....for several reasons including size
Second, Ford (and others) have every motivation to care about small trucks: CAFE
There's only so much that can be done to improve the efficiency of punching a hole in the air the size of an F150...
Yes! My question was to gauge just how many people would be willing to pay for it.
It's interesting that three times as many Expoers here have said they ARE willing to pay for a Diesel option in a new Tacoma.
It may be rather unscientific, but it's telling, and I think it reflects what ExPoers...
One more observation:
This would be true comparing apples and oranges, like a Tacoma to a Jeep Wrangler
But not why one 2004 Tacoma is 'worth' $22K when another similar 2004 Tacoma is being sold for $16K
Or why a used 2012 Tacoma with 19K miles is only $1,500 less than the full sticker price...
I agree completely, if you're buying a vehicle to make you happy. It's all emotional, irrational, illogical....do what makes you happy!
Yet, even here in this thread, people bash other brands because they don't hold their value as well or judge other brands because they are less expensive.
See...
Again, maybe you need to point out what you think is bashing.
For me, there are plenty of great Toyotas that are simply overpriced in the used car marketplace. And the Toyota faithful justify it.
You'll see me point that out a lot. Maybe you confuse that with bashing the brand...
I don't mean to bash Toyota. And I don't think I do. Some Toyota products are great. Others suck. Just like GM and Ford and Ferrari and..... Can't paint an entire brand with a broad brush.
In your analogy, Toyota is Burger King.....there is little difference. As you said, only preference.
So why try to tell others that Burger King tastes better, represents better value, and McD's sucks?
Is this just a Toyota circle jerk? If this is a forum for discussion and not just high fives for like-mindedness, then I think I'll come and go here as I please. I'm interested in Toyota, have owned many Toyotas, and will own Toyotas again. But to hear some of you go on as if you've never even...
Maybe......Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and realize how Toyota is not always superior
It's just slightly different than your statement, but in a very important way
There are lots of good products out there. Sometimes Toyota is the best choice for the given metrics. Sometimes not.
I've owned lots...
This is my post, if you haven't noticed. Was there anything negative about Toyota in the original post?
I do think buying a used 2012 Tacoma with 19K miles for $21.9K when the new MSRP is $23.4K is absolute stupidity -- buy the new one...
