I love builds like this, so much more character. Its coming along very well. I have the same Jeep but a bit brighter color, still running stock wheels, that was a sweet score on yours.
My Dometic 50L is similar. Normally my fridge is always in and on, plus the Jeep is my daily driver. Around home when we aren't getting in to it much I leave it set at 37 but if we go on a few days camping trip I'll drop it down to 32 or 34. The more people are getting in to it the harder it...
I would like to see that. I'm in the process of rebuilding my battery box and part of the rebuild will be to add a ground shunt and meter so I can see more accurately where my battery is. Then I want to disconnect the solar and see how far the battery goes down over X hours with the fridge...
Nice! I need to get one of those. I've been very happy with my Dometic but it would be nice to know how much it varies inside.
Here's a US link for anyone interested.

CTEK is the mfg, it's a CTEK D250sa that I bought new on eBay for half the retail a couple years ago. It's a 20 amp DC-DC charger that has built in MMPT solar controller. I run a single 100 watt Renogy solar panel and a 100ah AGM house battery.
You're talking theory and I'm talking how it performs in the real world. I don't have a driveway machine to entertain kiddos or power my workshop, I'm using it in a Jeep JKUR that's setup for overlanding. Longest trip was 42 days traveling across the country on the TransAmerica trail and not...
Well I've personally travelled 42 days straight without shore power and my 12v fridge was running the whole time so real-world experience tells me that the DC-DC setup works just fine.
How much are you powering in your vehicle that you need 100 amps of charge into the house battery while running down the road? My CTEK DC-DC is smart, it only works when the start battery is fully charged and the vehicle is running, when I park in one spot it's charging off solar. That's...
I've been using the CTEK D250sa for the 2nd battery in my JKUR for a little over 2 years and it's been flawless. I keep a Dometic CFX50 running pretty much 24/7. 100ah AGM and 100 watt Renogy solar panel connected direct to the CTEK. I hooked it up according to the schematic in the CTEK...
Nice! I just took the kitchen out of the back of mine today with the intention of tackling the base plate project so that would make templating easier. I'll have to give it a try on mine.
We lived in our Jeep JKUR for six weeks, wife had 3 packing cubes and I had 2, they fit on the floor behind my seat and we did laundry every two weeks. Early on we noticed that the Jeep smelled but after a week or so the smell disappeared :)
I've been researching vans for a few years since selling my sportsmobile and just found this thread. I have to say WOW, your site is the most detailed information source I've ever found. Thank you!
I don't miss the rear windows at all. My old hardtop rear windows were covered in stickers and unless you actually turn around in your seat they're barely visible anyways.
I'd probably have gotten the brackets for a roof rack. Very happy with the pockets and lights, I also got the driver side awning that I don't use much. I did not get windows and don't miss them. I put solar on myself although it is scary drilling a hole through it.
Great looking rig, you're going to love the J30. Just wait until someone comes up in a rest area wondering what the heck that is on top of your Jeep and in less than 30 seconds you can pop it up and show off :)
