That is insane seeing that lower control arm just bent over like that. You must have been moving or hit a solid dip/rock to peel it back like that. Cool photos and glad it's fixed!
I'd personally be careful with an front R180 diff and 37's... R180's aren't exactly known for their robustness, and have a long history of breaking in the frontier/xterra community. That said, shameless plug here to let you know i have a spare r180 with 3.13 gears if you ever need it:P
Sad day. I remember following this build since the start! Love what you’ve done with the rig and I’ve always wanted one of the R 50 pathfinders. I am kind of curious what your price at four. I don’t need another rig but this is hard to pass up if it’s reasonably price sad day. I remember...
I've actually had excellent experiences with PRG Greg. Calling him is the best bet as he seems pretty busy, but he has always taken care of me and even talked about my truck on a personable level and sent brackets/hardware out free of charge. I've had ok experiences with Nisstec but have found...
Drooling over how sick your truck is! Great trip post as well. Do you notice a big hit in MPG's with the RTT? Or have the tires already killed any hope of fuel economy:P ?
Update. With the addition of a HAM and my last LED bar swap, a little cleanup was necessary in the wiring department. What a pain that was... This has absolutely convinced me to plan my future wiring jobs carefully and to do it right the first time because cleaning up bad wiring sucks!
Anyways...
Envious of that rear bumper. Really well thought out and like how it’s practically a l shaped bench. Also the Manastash area may be one of my favorites to explore and wheel in. Might have to hit you up next time I’m headed that way.
As for the noises, it sounds like it could be a bushing...
I’ve just read through your entire write up and am thoroughly impressed. I’m sure you felt some nostalgia posting some of the first photos of the truck. Very cool to see the progress. Purposeful and functional and looks sweet! Keep up the posts
It's crazy how many options are available for the jeeps/taco's. I get a little mod envious sometimes, but I like how unusual our Xterras and Frontiers are so I'll live with it. Glad to hear you like your Gobi! Maybe if I could find one used that might be the way to go. I'm beginning to plan a...
Cool! Having more gears in the transmission is certainly nice and sounds like it really helps. Do you have a photo of the R180 axles for your rig? If nissan makes an "extended length" titan axle for the r180 out of the box that would be pretty cool and I don't think anyone really knows about...
Very cool. How many miles did it come with? Heck of a value at that price. I'm sort of shocked that it has an R180 though... I figured it would at least have a M205 with the 3.36 gearing just like the R51's or Titans since it has the V8?
Just an update. The truck runs great since titan swapping but I haven't gotten offroad as much as I've wanted to. However the truck is starting to show its age a little on the exterior. General paint cleanup and pulling some of the painted parts to respray will be my next few weeks worth of...
This is amazing! I love seeing the larger SUV builds and it looks rad. Any plans for going long travel? I've seen a few R51 Pathy's with this setup and they are pretty insane, but probably not necessary. I really like that snorkel fitment as well. Keep it up! Definitely watching this build.
Fantastic updates. Love coming here and reading up on the truck. I came up with a few ideas I'll have to do for myself as well including the molle panel and the onboard water shower. How does that system pressurize to allow water to come out? Also, how many miles are on the rig? Any worries for...
I think it’s a case-by-case basis. I experienced it almost right out of the gate even with proper lubing and using polybushings. I’ve switched back to the rubber bushings and periodically wash out the leaves and reverse in between them but it’s not perfect. I’ve had mine on now for 50k miles...
