I've actually done all 3, sort of... I started with the OME MD complete lift. After that, I installed a spacer, UCA's and Adjustable shackles out back to essentially get to a 3" lift setup. It honestly rode pretty well, had pretty good road manners and did most everything. My complaint is and...
I can understand the dust issue! I'm not sure of a good way to keep that out of drawers so it sounds like your setup is maybe better for that problem. Where do you wheel in Eastern WA? I love that area, and typically am just east of the mountains when we go offroad.
Sweet lookin rig! I like the tire choice and good choice to swap out for a front runner rack. You ever thinking about drawers in the rear? Kind of like the decked cargo drawers?
Interested to see how your fridge slide setup comes together! I agree with everything about the OME leaf packs, they are noise and pop and groan a ton on my rig as well, but they certainly do handle and ride well. The noise is ridiculous and I wish OME would investigate and add better friction...
Thanks man! Your rig and write up on those tires are what made me decide to really give these tires another closer look. I'm glad I did! Great onroad behavior and not too loud, and offroad and in snow they are fantastic. I don't really rock crawl but I have yet to find a place where these...
This was posted over on @AlbatrossCafe build page but I figured I'd mention it here as well. We spent the day snow wheeling up to a snowshoe trail off of Beckler Road/Highway 2 area this past weekend. What a great time!
I realize now that I will be looking to invest in a better shovel (bent...
Trip report: WABDR
This past weekend my buddy and I finally decided to try out section 2 of the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route (WABDR). Saturday morning we packed up the cars and the wives joined us for what would be a great trip of exploring some of the most scenic trails east of the...
With winter coming it seemed like a good idea to get the interior sleeping arrangements set up finally. Since I added drawers in the back I no longer had the flat open space to lay out in like I used to. Fixed that with a little spare wood and carpet!
It lays just on top of the folded forward...
Completely understand that! I've also come to realize that day trips to an ORV park or difficult trails are fun, they aren't exactly what I fully enjoy. I've definitely enjoyed exploring new areas with some technical terrain thrown in. But it's always been about the landscape and...
This is awesome! The rear sleeping platform is what I'm aiming to do in my X. I have the drawers done, just need to figure out the forward sleeping section. Your setup has given me some ideas.
Out of curiosity, why not V8 swap the xterra and gain the benefits of power, gearing and rear solid...
You know, I actually really liked the OME ride quality. Hate the popping rear springs though... I had the medium duty kit and it rode really well. When I added the front bumper and winch, it would nose dive a tad more and I lost some height, but it has very similar driving feel to my current...
I also had this setup before I went titan swap. I actually really liked the way it rode. You definitely need aftermarket UCA's but your brake lines should be fine. Overall, I'd recommend this setup to anyone wanting to shoot for 2-3" of lift. You only sacrifice uptravel, but it certainly is a...
