    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

Also, I bought a used 100 series OME lift "kit" off a fellow Rising Sun 4x4 friend here in Denver. After adding the bumpers, sliders, roof rack, winch, dual batteries and a plan to add a full set of drawers and skids... the factory suspension is squishy, wobbly at speed and loose in the corners...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

I scored a used/unused Oz Tent Foxwing awning on CL the other day. I found a fella who was trying to mount this on top of a Sprinter van but the extendable poles wouldn't reach the ground and the awning... too tall. Good deal for me, I will get it mounted up soon for my Solar Eclipse run up to...

    Dissent offroad 100 series build!

Ben maybe I missed it but two questions, what's that solar tripod light thingy? Got a link? Are you laying down those aluminum beads? Killer welding.

    Dissent offroad 100 series build!

Wow Ben, that's another level. Aluminum is a lacking option for our heavy rigs. I hope this takes off for you boss. Keeping this light up front and in the rear would be worth it for a lot of owners myself included. I'll be watching this with interest! Great work Ben.

    Homemade Roofracks.

No more than 40-45 pounds. I'll add another few pounds by the time it's done (weld, brackets, hardware and paint) but 16 gauge HREW in mild steel weighs less than 0.70#/ft. All things considered this is very light for its capacity and dimension.

    Homemade Roofracks.

I used 16ga 1" tubing. Thank you for the compliment.

    Homemade Roofracks.

I am wrapping up my custom roof rack build. It has been a fun time. I need to give a big shout out to Gamaviti for selling me his mounting plates and 100 series Land Cruiser adjustable feet, it is all first class kit. Thanks again Gamaviti! All that is left is for me to finish the welding on the...

FS: ARB Simpson 3 Tent - Used 3x - Stored Indoors

That looks killer man, do you have a build up thread on that 40? Don't see enough 40's being used on this board. GLWTS

Does anyone make a CB/HAM radio?

Fwiw, I have both CB and HAM in both rigs I use. However, I have a Midland 75-822 handheld that is great for the few times I actually want to use CB (only when folks don't use HAM ). Once you try HAM you won't go back. The clarity and distance achieved is amazing. You can find some radios that...

Should we use the light color to make tents?

I'd take a dark tent over a light tent every time so I can sleep in a bit more.

BEST MADE LARGE RTT FOR SOUTHEAST U.S. (HUMIDITY AND HEAVY RAINFALL)

You'll be better off in a pop up. I know, I know its not what was asked. However, 4 people in a Florida downpour with lightning in a soggy RTT isn't my idea of a good time. I grew up in Florida, I have one of the biggest RTT ever made mounted on a trailer and I have 3 kids. For a family a popup...

    40 Guy builds a 100 Series

I started the wrap by laying the vinyl in the sun to loosen it up, this promotes good adhesion and it allows it to stretch a little better too. Tossing it in the dryer can accomplish the same thing but this is greener HA! Box is sanded and ready to get wrapped. I started on the bottom...
