I have an interstate loadrunner. 8.5x20, that seems to be better built than a lot of them I looked at.

They use Livestock guard dogs there a lot, so with the exception of feral packs. The dogs are doing their job, what they are bred to do. Hope you are able to find a solution. I know its not always possible to get far enough out to not be close to livestock, or towns with feral dogs. Good luck

I have family in Thermop, (well and many other places in Wyoming) it’s always great to see and visit Wyoming. Even through the eyes of another. Unfortunately, no fix that works for all people. And everything is a tradeoff. Hope you find something that works for you.
