Trail Tough is right in my back yard. They’ve got me measured up for sliders. I’m just not sure how often I’ll put a vehicle that big into situations like that. I figured that what I’d replace them with rock sliders if I bent them. If nothing else they look cooler. 😜

None of us, including the trainers were sure what to expect. It has a nice suspension, but we kept the front and rear sway bars and it’s 10,000 pounds loaded. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it handled it. That was with the locker engaged. In 4L, the stabilization is disengaged. It got...

I did a great class with Backwood 4WD Training on Whidbey Island. It was mostly about extraction, but we had to see if the Stormtrooper could survive the moguls. It was the only big rig there.

2021 Ford F250 Tremor Adventure Rig

Don't pack your old ones before you save your amber bulbs. You reuse them, hence the term hybrid (and $1000 still in your pocket! :ROFLMAO:).

2021 Ford F250 Tremor Adventure Rig

The Morimoto hybrids are awesome and a great deal. They're $1200, but they'll give you $300 back for your stock halogens. I can't overstate the impact they've made.

2017+ Ford Super Duty Rear Cab Storage

I haven't done anything yet. I plan on making something that I can slide in with the seat up, but still installed because we sometimes carry passengers skiing. I also want it to hold my 15lb dog up top. I'm still contemplating the design.

I've got a recent update...I saw it in the wild! Nice rig!!!

    Good article in Outside.

GVWR might a black box, but it is a legal limit. If you're 2000 over and injure or kill someone, it will almost certainly be an issue.

1/2 Ton vs 3/4 Ton for Family Adventures?

My camper lives in the truck full time. I have Deaver XXHD leaf springs and it rides great. It's 10,000 lbs on the nose. That said, if the weight is only going to be in the truck rarely, bags are the answer. It won't ride as well as a progressive spring pack loaded, but the pack I have would...

Matt installed the upper camera and then I had a local RV shop wire the “mirror.” Matt could do it all though. We didn’t do it at the outset, because we thought we might use the upper cam in reverse. Our build was tight too because of the deadline to get it to OE.

We drive the rig infrequently enough that the main batteries can start to lose charge. We can park where we can run a trickle charger, so we installed Cascadia 4x4s hood mounted system. The three panels deliver 120W.

The original camera works in reverse, but we didn't have great rear vis while driving. The camper came with an upper camera, that hadn't been hooked up. We finally got around to installing the matching "mirror." I would have preferred a full view, but this is what matched the installed camera...

Full size, but ProClip makes them for the Mini too. The ball was where I put my inreach. I used it for GPS. With the advent of Apple SOS and the fact that we carry a PLB, I ordered a Dual GPS receiver and sold the inreach. No Subscription for Dual.

CJC probably did caster. You’ll want it rechecked once loaded though anyway. They know all this stuff, but you want more than 4. Deaver can and should do pinion and leveling. It’ll most likely sit low on the drivers side until you do that. If you don’t get the angle right, it’ll whine on...

Carli recommends a lot of caster, over 4. The only way we could get there was radius arm shims and caster shims. It drives like a dream now. Deaver can do pinion shims, and leveling, but they don’t stock a full run of HD shims. The max they had when I added the leaves was 2. It needed double...

Did you do radius arms? If you did, it’s probably set up right. They’re the number one Carli dealer. You essentially need 4° or so of caster and then you’ll need about 4° of pinion. You can only get the former with shims at the top and the arm. The camper is heavier on the drivers side so...

Who is installing the Carli? Airbags aren’t necessary. They were the wrong solution to a problem, but I find uses for them none the less. Don’t get them though.
