SLRV also sent me this short video entitled "Coming Home Soon!". (Just click on the dropbox link.) Both my wife and I got emotional just thinking about the adventures to come!

Yes, the Acela truck chassis looks quite awesome. Unfortunately, they've become so busy with a large mining company order that they are booked up for the next 18 months! So, you can't get one for a while. As for progress, well, it can't be fast enough for me. Here are a few pictures from last...
Here she is just coming out of the paint shop and heading back to SLRV to get all her jewelry attached to the outside. Then it's on to the homestretch for completion! Should have more pics in about ten days with windows, winch, cab cage etc.
No photo updates right now. All the chassis boxes, wheel wells and cab bush guards were removed and sent out for black powder coating. The rig left today to go to the paint shop. I’ve chosen a grey exterior color. Here is the color on a Unimog they built. I’m pretty excited to see the...
Turn radius, curb to curb, diameter turn, this reminds me of the famous Abott and Costello routine:
Costello: Well then who's on first?
Abbott: Yes.
Costello: I mean the fellow's name.
Abbott: Who.
Costello: The guy on first.
Abbott: Who.
Costello: The first baseman.
Abbott: Who.
Costello: The...
Let’s try and clear up the turning radius vs turning circle.
The turning radius of a vehicle is the radius of the smallest circular turn that the vehicle is capable of making. The term turning radius is a technical term that has become popular automotive jargon. In the jargon sense, it is...
According to Acela's brochure, the 6x6 has a 56.4 ft turning radius. I had my wheelbase lengthened by 19" and Acela told me my turning radius would now be 58 ft. No, this chassis does not have rear turning axles. I had that on my 45 ft Newell motorhome and my old 1988 Mazda MX-6. Really nice.
It’s a loooong time. My chassis arrived there the end of April. I don’t think mine will be done until end of November. Then I have to wait 6 weeks for shipping it back here.
Congrats on your new rig! We initially looked at the Adventurer. It’s the perfect size. Ours grew an additional 1.5 meters partly because this will be our home 7 months of the year. Say hi to Warwick next time you’re in. He’s a terrific guy.
I'm attaching a brochure from KCT, the window manufacturer that is supplying our windows. I found it very interesting but, as you can imagine, I find everything about the building of my dream expedition vehicle interesting. In it you'll see the recommended method of installation and...
I’m letting SLRV do the initial research for the diesel generator. Didn’t know they made diesel bikes until I Googled them. An electric bike makes no sound and that’s the appeal.
