A "Toyota Guy" Buys a Classic

Yes - as are all the body panels for the RRC. Pretty cool, eh?:wings:

    2M Antenna Recommendations?

I tried, I really tried, but I couldn't make it through all 19 pages of this thread. No doubt this has been covered before but it's an always-popular topic so I suppose it's worth repeating. I'm looking for a good tri-band spring mount antenna to pair with my FT8900. I currently have a...

Cooper STT Pro for my LR3

E rating will certainly help. I've only run E's on mine. I actually find the stock Rover wheels to be really good. Like I said, I've abused mine and they have plenty of rash but I've never lost a bead or cracked a wheel like that. Maybe it's your driving style. Tell me, do you favor Ms...

Cooper STT Pro for my LR3

DiscoNels, what sort of pressures do you run to get that kind of wheel damage? I've found the weight of the LR3 combined with the short sidewalls means I can't run much under 25 psi in the rocks or I squash the sidewalls right down to the bead. I've gouged up my wheels a lot but haven't broken...

    Dead Battery advice

There's a place for a dual battery setup, but I see a lot of people who seem to think it's something they have to have if they want to run a fridge. Just trying to let them know it's not a requirement but an option. Myself I don't like to let the grass grow under my rig, so I tend to not stay...

    Dead Battery advice

Going to LED is nice and far less than $200. However a battery in resonate shape should be able to keep the stock lights going for hours with no worries. I do carry one of the little lithium jumpers -really amazing the power to weight and they can start multiple rigs on a single charge. As...

Cooper STT Pro for my LR3

I'm running STT pros in 275/70-18, E load, on my LR3. Almost 2 years in and I'm seeing some pretty good chunkier on the outer tread blocks. In fact on my last outing I tore a complete tread block off down to the cords (!). Almost 15k on them and plenty of tread depth, but I'm now wondering if...

    Dead Battery advice

What he said. Most people don't understand how long it actually takes to bring a battery to 100%. Without getting techy, let's just say your alternator won't do it and you need a good overnight with a decent multistage charger.

    LR3 - new K02s

One problem, iiD tools are VIN tied unless you buy the expensive pro version, so likely somebody else's iiD won't be able to do anything but read codes on your truck. But hey, you should totally have one of your own anyway!

    First mod to an LR4?

I might as well weigh in too. I'm only going to address mods. I'll assume you have basic maintenance taken care of and already have recovery gear. 1st- Tires. Stock street tires are not adequate for off-road work beyond the occasional gravel road. You don't have to go big, but go to a true...

    The DiscoDavis Sandglow Thread

Conner, you don't need CAD for gaskets like that, you just need a small ball peen hammer. (didn't your father teach you anything?? ;) ) Simply lay the gasket material over the metal surface you want to make a gasket for and tap tap tap away. The sharp edges of the steel (aluminum, etc) are...

    Lr3 ARB bumper with superwinch

Funny - I have a SmittyBuilt 10K on my LR3 and a Warn (forget the model) on my D1.... the thing I don't like about the Warn is it's too fast! Let go of the button and it runs on for quite a while - makes it difficult to control in tight conditions. While I hate the clutch control on my SB (and...

    Dropping a newer diesel into a 90 or 110

StevenMD....area code 916.... Do I know you? If so, you may know one of our local guys (also a member here, also in the medical community) recently picked up a Santana and is currently going through the same debate about what motor to put in it. The R2.8 is high on his possible list but as...

    2007 LR3 - my 10 yr build thread...

Well, maybe.... :) I recall the Arnot front strut I snapped a couple years ago was built on a Billstein. They have since changed. Of course, that's not to say the actual Billstein branded kit is the same as what they were selling to Arnot.

For anybody looking to go with this size tire, keep in mind different manufacturers will vary width even with the same size on paper. My Cooper STT Pro 275-70-18s on the same wheels should (on paper) be narrower by 10mm, but I have maybe even less clearance. I happen to have the truck up on...

New product from Proud Rhino! The SYA Off Road Extension Kit

I don't know that you can do it with spacers using the LLAMS controller (I currently have mine removed) but I see you have a GAP tool - that could certainly do it. Just go to the 'test valves' section and dump the air right down to the bumpstops. You'd then need to re-enable EAS after leaving...
