    Utility bed...

The goal is a recovery rig/general overlander basically. The plan is to have a fair amount of hardware to tug folks out (as long as I can get to them). I still may build a trailer to tow behind, but that won't change the trucks plans too much. I am not sure the departure angle is less than stock...

    Utility bed...

Well, I pulled the trigger. The back needs to come up an inch or so and I need to figure the bumper situation out and some protection around the rear but overall I like it. There is a Job Box thing in the back that I might keep as it fits perfectly. Also need to get the RTT mounted and maybe...

    Utility bed...

No negatives yet. The glass is super thick and I'll find out how heavy this Saturday when I do the bed swap. The one I found has a lumber rack which is removable and modifiable. So either my RTT will go up there or what ever. I'll post up pics after the install.

    Utility bed...

Found one of these for sale and want to see what you kids think. http://www.brandfxbody.com/bfxb-40-ls-contour-series/ The one I found is faded but the gel looks good, has a ladder rack but that looks easily modifiable or removeable. Seems light, sits pretty tight to the body, will easily...

Just acquired a slightly used Kukenam Sky...

Super stoked...been looking and debating and pondering and this just sorta fell in my lap yesterday. I am mounting in a regular bed full size truck with Thule adjustable racks. Was hoping to be able to raise and lower the racks as needed was also hoping to have enough room to keep surf boards up...

    2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins - Questions/Slow Build

There is room behind the cab on the outside of the frame rail tucked up high. If done right it will sit just level with the bottom of the frame. Get some new fuel line and move it there.

    $40 BaoFeng UV-5R Dual-Band Handhelds

The most expensive Baofeng I saw was $60 for a tri band 8 watt model. That is about a quarter of the price of a name brand. I get what you mean, but it seems to me to be a good learners tool/backup/loaner/etc. Unless I am missing something here Baofeng seems like a reasonable unit for it's...

    $40 BaoFeng UV-5R Dual-Band Handhelds

Is there somewhere that breaks down all the Baofeng units? The web site looks to be dated and there are several units that are in the $30 to $60 range which is in the same ballpark as far as I am concerned. I want to take some baby steps into this HAM thing and I am a certifiable cheapass...so...

Steering overhaul needed on the dodge expo rig... Thoughts?

I have a 2nd Gen and I am just starting starting to upgrade the front end. Of all the research I have done the DOR and Carli stuff seems to be the best. The DOR long arm kit has an insane amount of droop which for me is a real bonus as I want as little lift as I can get and have lots of...

    Full Size Dodge Thread

Thought I would throw my hat in the ring. Old Dodge and the one that got me hooked on Dodge and Cummins... Was a great truck and would haul the mail (and just about everything else) but it was WAY too nice to take to the Dez. Soooooo... I bought Blackie... Just took her to...

    Pulled the trigger

I am a diesel nut, an American diesel nut (although my DD is a '13 VW Jetta Wagon TDI) so I found a sweet little 1999 Dodge 2500 crew cab short bed Cummins with a manual 6 speed and 4x4 (of course). I am going to build this into my desert/bugout/Baja/Colorado do it all. Looking to first dial in...
