    Teardrop Recommendations

Teardrop Balance- tongue weight If you look at most teardrop designs, the doors restrict the forward location of the axle. (the fenders interfere with the doors) This requires most teardrop's axles to be placed further back than optimal, which in turn, makes them a bit heavier on the tongue...

    Expedition Overland 2013 Tacoma Build

Legally transporting firearms to Alaska while on a vehicle dependent trip Clay and/or the Trip X members, From what I know about Alaska back country travel, which is only what I've read, most Alaskan residents consider it irresponsible to travel into the Alaskan bush unarmed. (humans are NOT...

    Teardrop Recommendations

We've been running an AT Teardrop since spring. We are very pleased with the trailer in every respect. The suspension setup is the main reason I went with the AT Teardrop over the competition's products. Highway manners are superb. It also handles washboard like a dream. (35-40 mph all the...

Trailer to Tuweep or Point Sublime

Yea, he was pretty gutsy. We did have a Plan B if we ran into an obstacle that we couldn't get through. The photos were taken last May, about a mile past the Ranger station. This rocky section was about as bad as it got. Have fun!!

Trailer to Tuweep or Point Sublime

Doable if you take it slow I don't see a problem. My buddy pulled this to Tuweep last spring. No problems if you take it slow.

Which rtt is the easiest to open and close by one person?

Eezi Awn Globetrotter +1 Can't say which RTT is easiset, because I've only owned one. I had the Eezi Awn Globetrotter on my Adventure Trailer Chaser. I've setup, and taken down, this tent too many times to count. Including taking off the cover, it takes about 5 minutes to put up. Breaking...

Want pics of a JKU with 14.5 wide tires 37+

Fender Consideration You might want to check out your fender options. I'm running Bushwakers in an attempt to cover those wide tires. (BTW, Bushwakers were the widest fender I could find and they don't cover the entire tire.) If you get onto a wet muddy forest road, you will have mud...

Want pics of a JKU with 14.5 wide tires 37+

Redthies, you are correct. You do give up some cargo space in the top rear of the Jeep with the fastback top. For us it is purely aesthetics. With just the two of us traveling, along with the teardrop, we have more than cargo space...

Want pics of a JKU with 14.5 wide tires 37+

Not quite 14.5" tires..but maybe close enough? Not 14.5" but these are 37x13.5R17's on a 2011 JKU. I'm actually considering going to a tall skinny tire. I'm running "tall skinny" on the Taco and like them better. Also hoping to increase the gas mileage and range on the Jeep with...

Is anyone producing a camping trailer for families?

Fun Finder Here's a picture of buddy of mine pulling his Funfinder into the North Rim. (last spring) He pulled it over 60 miles on rough gravel road, with the last couple miles quite a bit rougher than that. It made it in, and out, without any damage. He just had to take it slow. One note...

    WarnerD9 's 2011 4Runner TE build thread

Weight and mileage Curious, what is the total weight of your rig? What kind of gas mileage are you seeing? With the aux tank, how much fuel do you carry on board and what is your highway range? Noticed you're going to 4.56 gearing, not enough power or are you cruising at too low an RPM due...

    Adventure Trailers drawer storage?

AT Drawer System I have a custom AT drawer in the back of the Jeep. I have it loaded with tools and spare parts. (~100lbs worth) The drawer has held up very well. (going on 18 months and ~ 6,000 miles of trips) The drawer allows me to stack bags in the rear and still easily get to the...

Use of WAG bags and PETT potties

Tri-To-Go and Restop2's We use the Tri-To-Go and Restop2. One use for us. For the money I would save, I don't want to run the risk of a rupture. I quit cleaning up other peoples poo when my kids got out diapers...that was a long time ago. :ylsmoke:

Cool idea for battery and spare tire rack that goes underneath truck!

AT Teardrop Underframe Battery Box Yea, built the box in my garage over a couple day span. No bottle jack required, but it isn't light. The dangerous part is in the lowering. You would have a big surprise- and probably a headache- if you simply took out the bolts, without considering you...

Cool idea for battery and spare tire rack that goes underneath truck!

Battery Box Here's some shots of the battery box I built for my AT teardrop. I relocated the batteries from the front storage box to behind the axle. The box is made to fold down for easy access and maintenance. I made the battery box from 10 gauge steel. I could have used thicker...
