sPOD
I've used the sPOD product in both the Jeep and the Tacoma. Very happy with the results. Makes a clean wiring setup and adding additional circuits/accessories is a breeze.

Real World Taco Mileage
I'll throw in my $0.02 on the gas mileage in my Tacoma.
Some required background: My 2012 DC Tacoma is running a plate steel rear bumper, steel sliders, and an aluminum front bumper. Winch is a Warn Cti running synthetic line. Tires are Cooper ST MAXX - 235/85R16's on...
Alignment was the problem
Found the culprit- alignment
"Toe in" was set at 0.62. (factory spec is 0)
I pulled my paperwork from the dealer alignment at 30,379 miles, but the alignment "before" and "after" printout wasn't in there. :-(
Not sure how the alignment could have changed that much...
Dry Fire Practice
I can go one better that will save you even more money....dry fire practice. It is amazing what it will do for your shooting. One note of caution- pickup a good training book, or seek training, and follow the procedure for safe dry fire practice.
Good luck.
Martyn, thanks- never thought about shock being bad out of the box. I'll look closer at that issue.
After I did the front suspension work I did take a look at the dealership's alignment spec printout. Didn't give it much thought other than to see it was in brought back into spec. Been...
I've been running Cooper ST MAXX LT235/85R16 for the last 25,000 miles. I also installed ICON Vehicle Dynamics front coil overs with ICON's tubular upper control arms about 15,000 miles ago.
About 6,000 miles ago, the truck developed a significant shimy in the steering wheel from about 57-65...
Teardrop to RV
Purchased my AT Teardrop in March. We have put over a little over 4,500 miles on her since then.
Coming from a Chaser, we can say we love the teardrop. For us, the AT Teardrop is a good compromise between off road capability, ease of setup, and comfort.
What made you decide...
Blue Sea SafetyHub 150
I used the 150 in the new teardrop. One thing to note, the 150 has an integrated negative bus bar as well. I went with the 150 for just this reason. Keeps all the wires nice and tidy, and in one place. Safetyhub 150 specs
Good units. Highly recommend.
The plan is to put the battery up inside the frame rails as high as I can get it. Everything will be covered with a skid plate. Battery terminals will be sitting at the bottom of the frame, which is about 9"-10" above the axle.
I have thought about water crossings. With the SCT teardrop...
Battery Relocation
So you'll have 2 group 31's in the nose box or are you installing 1 behind the galley drawers and 1 in the nose box?
I know that unsolicited advice is about as welcome as a turd in the punch bowl, but..... I'd be a little careful if you're planning on putting 2 group 31's...
What??!! Maybe it's the lighting in the photo?? I own an Adventure Trailers teardrop (coach portion built by SoCal) and have also seen the Moby1 teardrop in person. The plywood Moby1 was using looked very similar to the plywood in my teardrop. Just say'n.
If you talk to Ashley Grimes (owner...
I saw the pic, which had me confused. Speed and RPM's looked about right, but couldn't believe the mileage. Larger tires, geared lower than stock, added weight from body armor, and only lost ~ 1.3 mpg! I'm setup very similar to this truck, minus the gearing and running a smaller tire, and my...
Hijack ALERT!
What size AGM's and where are you putting them? I'm in the process of relocating the battery on my teardrop. Just curious in case SoCal has a better way of skinning the cat.
You're turning 2950 @ 70mph? Aren't you running 285/75R16's and geared 4.56? I ran a quick calc using a spread sheet I setup when I was trying to determine the right tire size/ gearing for my Tacoma. That combo should only be about 14% lower geared than stock. I would have thought you could...
That gas mileage may be a bit misleading if you haven't corrected for tire size and regearing. How have you corrected for the larger tires and new gearing?
I'm running 23585R16 with an aluminum front bumper with winch, plate rear bumper, and steel sliders. I also have corrected the speedo and...
Dynatrac Differentials- Puking gear lube out of breather tube
I'm running a Pro Rock 60 in the rear and a Pro Rock 44 on the front of the Jeep. I noticed some fluid around my FRONT breather tube a few weeks after installing the differential. The top of my breather tube is located at the top...
RE: New AT Teardrop-
Too early to tell. I've only spent 3 nights in the teardrop. So far, we like it. We came from a Chaser and we really like the teardrops's zero setup and easy access to the kitchen and frig.
