    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

If the rear block is leaking and the truck is still allowed to auto level the front will drop as well in order to keep the truck level. Pulling fuse 26 shuts down the EAS system and keeps the auto leveling from happening, this way you can determine which corner of the vehicle is dropping. If the...

    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

Did you pull fuse 26 during diagnosis? It keeps the vehicle from auto leveling. You said you only did front and center valves my money is on it being the rear valve. Both my front and rear were leaking on mine at 101k.

Yeah it is. Now the regular 110 has the option for coils.

As in the regular 110. Before you could only get coils on the Hard Top (commercial). But yeah a topless one would be nice.

So on the UK configurator you can spec a 110 (non hard top) with coil suspension and the rear locker and TR2. Basically the biggest thing ASPW was complaining about.

    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

Yeah IIRC there’s a ECU right behind the battery that hates water.

It’ll probably be about that much in a couple years on the used market. That’s when I would get one.

Yeah IMO it just creates more problems from a parts availability stand point.

    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

Yeah LR didn’t start using them in the US till 05’. Change the external tensioners every 70k and you’re usually good to go. The LR version makes a bit more power as well.

2020 Defender 110 Eiger Grey overland build

Powder coat will do the same thing on steel if it gets chipped and is allowed to rust at all.

    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

Oh no doubt the 4.4 is a tank of an engine. No argument there. My point about the rebuild cost was more about the cost to maintain the engine. If a full rebuild is only $1k then the rest of the parts aren’t that expensive either. There’s very few LR specific parts. Having driven both at sea...

    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

The most of the real technical stuff on the engine can be found on most of the popular Ford forums. Most everything else is easy enough to figure out. One plus side is changing spark plugs is cake on the V6, a full set of plugs for the V6 is the same price as one plug for the VThey also mounted...

    Disco 1 vs Disco 3 (LR3)

I’ve driven every model Disco IMO the best one is a D3 with the 4.0 V6. It’s just as reliable as the V8 if not more so and the cost to do a complete rebuild on that engine is like $1,000 and I’m talking new everything in the engine. D4 is IMO not worth the premium especially when we start...

It’s literally one button and a knob to change the 4wd modes. Press the button then twist the knob to the mode you want. If that’s hard you have zero business operating any vehicle let alone driving a 4wd off road.
