Anyone 'daily' or do a lot of miles in a Grenadier?

If I had found something like a troopy when I was looking to get a replacement for my last GX, which got crusty after a couple of years on brine-filled winter roads, I would have spent up. I have never seen a place where you can find old African/etc. Cruisers. I don't care if they were beaten. A...

Anyone 'daily' or do a lot of miles in a Grenadier?

Allow me to agree, and say that with OEM range on my GX at around 300, I took it out last week and did some minor off-roading to scout for dispersed campsites with friends. Slow going, though we did get into a swamp at one point that had been dry and flat week ago. Despite no real wheelspin...

SkiWill knows all of the above. This was an extra post you added to show what you think you know. Let's hear from the guy that owns one.

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

Yes, there were quite a few claims on this rig when it was first being planned. Quite a few did not come to pass, which is how you get a vehicle that's not ready for prime time in a whole lot of ways, as covered here.

Super great post all the way around. Funny story: when my minivan went bye bye because of its tranny, I sold it to a guy who has several of them. He ripped the leather interior out just as you said, and I still see that van working hard at about 200k

That whole section of my post was about the Quartermaster...which...is a pickup.

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

This is my favorite post you've written. I agree with all of it. However, the overland fad/craze/life simply expects people will carry more, and in fact, that's the way things are. Even truck bed campers are no longer able to fit on a half-ton bed. 3/4 and up...and even the manufacturers are...

There are far more Porsche franchise locations, with even more sports car garages, available than what INEOS has lined up. But don't let facts confuse you.

I would imagine the reliability is an issue for it as well. It's cratered as far as sales go, but I don't think those concerns tie into Gren issues for the purposes of this forum. One possible connection: for what people might be trying to do with it (like towing, which it's really bad at) a...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

I believe I've read in multiple places that the Chicken Tax will be a problem, so they'll have to work around that somehow. 25% is a steep hit, even if INEOS claims they'll pay that tax. I don't think the gov't cares for that sort of thing, but we shall see. In a place like this (ExPo) where...

Sorry, bub. Were not here for the nonsense. It's important to stay on topic. There are other forums for some of the things people have been posting here. That's all.

    No commentary needed....

And, finally, only because cost is mentioned, I just searched for a Lexus GX. Oldest set at 2020, less than 30k miles, one owner/no accidents. Max price 50k. I did not specify color (there aren't many, and nothing as nice as that Gren blue, though Nori Green is purdy) nor second row seating...

    No commentary needed....

There's no bigger example of a homer post than this one. You're simply out of your mind here. Okay, fair enough. Moving the goalposts, but ok. Completely avoiding my personal favorite (if we're going to be homers, here), the Lexus GX platform...and its odd that you'll consider the LC but not...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

I'm thoroughly confused how you can continue to be both off topic and incorrect. You're referencing a "farm" over and over. Awesome! Except a) the Gren is a failure in the EU due to payload, and b) there's (and repeat after me on this one....) NO REPAIR PLACES IN RURAL LOCATIONS. This isn't...

lol you're wrong all over the place today Hoping that the OP comes back, as his "tax guy" and my "tax guy" were in agreement. Perhaps you simply didn't read effectively. As far as I know, he paid something but was not going to actually have the asset until who knows when in 2024. That date...

How is any of this remotely connected to the Gren? Completely off topic. Try to focus, please.

This is also incorrect and demonstrably so. The problem with "new" turbos is that they are being gamed to return specific mileage and/or emissions. This was not a thing in the past. Here's one problem from one automaker regarding one engine. However...it's in most places, and these things...

I don't believe anything in this post. Where are you that there was a $42k pickup "missing pieces"?
