I didn't look thru all the pages. ..
But first thing I would do is get some "g series" full steel cases tires on that thing. LT tires in 16"...MAKE me nervous. It may be light but TALL. Full steel cased are stiff and run at high pressure . I generally convert to railroad 19.5" rims if you can...
Nice.... I want to follow. Love love love the 5r110 trannys. I had a few in V10s standard ambos (2014) ....and I have 5.4s and 7.3 cutaway quigleys. (2), and a couple IDI vans both standard and cutaways . Lol yeah I have issues. The v10 gives you same mileage as 5.4 on open highway...FYI. love...
So I found a REALLY small company in Michigan called Red Barn Customs. Guy seems like he can build just about any rim you want with ALL sorts of options. I will likely be going with him once I gather up soem funds and vehicles are on the road. I will run 19.5" rail rims for now, but at some...
I am trying to find a reasonably affordable ($500 each) alternative to all the crazy big run flat options. I have a 1995 E350 7.3 dually 4x4 Quigley cut away that I have singled out to 19.5" rail rims. Those are ok, but I'd REALLY like to find a flat steelie, that could run 20" BFG that could be...
I am in Greensburg Pa. I ran these on my 2002 F350 for many years. I kept them when I sold it and now I am ready to part with them. 5 units (one for a spare). This how you can create less drag, better mileage, and get the tires to track in the same path. I love the durability of the 19.5. I am...
I dont know where you are. ..I am near Pittsburgh. I have an extra ambo box from city of Pittsburgh...tipped on side and slide 3 feet. Back doors missing. I would take $1500 for it
I have a fleet of 5.4, v10 , and powerstroke and IDIs here. 1991-2014. I absolutely love the quiet power and efficiency of the 2014 v10. The 5r110w is outstanding. It gets same mileage as 5.4 over the road (summer mix) 12-14.5 mpg. I would NEVER want a 7.3 PSD under a dog box clanking away...
I have a 91 Quigley here and just spied a 91 Pathfinder at a local junk yard (body rotted out)...the Pathfinder had REALLY nice, long arms.. WAY more than my Quigley. They almost look factory pre 1980 F150 ..perhaps longer. Just wanted to post this for posterity sake. Even had a whole new set...
Old thread , but worth noting bone stock 2014 ambo e350 v10 4:10 limited slip. 245/75/16 factory tires...65mph cruise control thru the mountains solid 15 mpg.
This is a graveyard topic over 7 years old. BUT, still poinyent. Thanks to everyone for their input. Worth mentioning E Series a never had the 3 valve 5.4 or v10...always 2 valve.
Looking at a v10 vs 5.4 ...I have had 7.3 in trucks....good engine, just fuel is 15-20% more and mileage doesn't...
I do have a complete (rotted cab and frame) running gear and everything else...1997 PSD F350 4x4 Dana 60 ....but I WAS going to save all that for an OBS super duty straight frame ambo combination. I have the LifeStat aluminum body already here as well....I just know eventually i want a van...
You might want to call Quigley.....back in the day they had a propriatery adapter to fit the standard 2wd E4OD (simply removed tail housing) and put the adapter in and bolt to a Borg Warner.....drive shafts may need to special length, but would have been custom for you anyhow. I just got a 1990...
There is a auxiliary diesel pickup tube right on your fuel pump assembly...I saw pics of it the other day... somewhere online. You can simply tap into that. R
So, I have recently picked up this girl. It has a 460 which will "go away". Dana 44 coil front axle, 3.54 gears. I am contemplating one of a couple of repowering options. I LOVE 300/six engines...I have two trucks here with them (1980 F250 and a 1986 F150) I will be putting one in a 1984...
I am HUGE fan of 19.5" conversions for 16" factory truck tire, wear like iron, and given you don't "off road" a good Michelin or like would be perfect. Rickson rims (ask for heather) can outfit your rim needs. If you want to stick with 16" rims look for "G" series full steel cased tires (no...
