    F550 Flatbed Build

First, a Quad cab long bed Chassis 450/550 was certainly available in 2000-2003, I have seen several (perhaps I am misunderstanding your question). Also, I had a 2000 550 7.3 2wd which I put a Detroit Locker and 391's in with factory rims/ tires. It was a manual with a Super Chip on the lowest...

    FS - M105A2 trailer

Personally, I would not think you will get the asking price, they sell frequently for $200 at GovLiq. and have the tarp which makes them great for storage. I keep several here for that purpose, and pull them with F-350 and 550 duallies. Your just asking too much. They are just too BIG and HEAVY...

    Torsion Axle for camping trailer

That coil is interesting, reminds me of a diving board we replaced the spring on it with a coil from a Chevy 3/4 ton. BUT looks serviceable, AND brings up a point I was going to make for you serious off roaders who want to pull trailers. I have 4 H&H Brindles here used to haul propane tanks...

Army HMMV 788 Shelter Truck AND trailer camper

Fresno, As the title of the thread states, they are 788 Gitchner shelters from a HMMV. I got them from GovLiq. These are bigger and possibly alot lighter than the old 250 shelter that fit into the back of the 8' pickup beds. I saw several old 250's when I picked these up and the 788 are ALOT...

Army HMMV 788 Shelter Truck AND trailer camper

Yes, only 600 lbs. Very nice, that leaves me about......3000lbs doe other stuff. The "log truck" is for Urban Salvage logs I get from tree guys. I mill them here and dry them for my work. Here is the long 8 booth phone trailer, I am trying to get one these, are REALLY cool. Flip up on each...

Army HMMV 788 Shelter Truck AND trailer camper

Well, I hope this is were this thread belongs, I have been mulling over various camper and trailer conversion for, well,.... a few years. I have a pretty extensive backround in Outdoor Ed, worked for 4 years with an Outward Bound style Experiential Ed. program. We travelled all across the US...

    Leg-less roof rack awning

Here is a custom rack, tarp awning on my old 550. It worked well. I kept the bed, just need to shorten it. Sides swing up and I attached a perfed tube t ocantilever out and voila. The interior rack under the tarp was designed to side load/unload wood and furniture in the rain. I will have to...

    Ford F700 Build

TOTALLY cool. Nice build. Looks like my Ambulance body, it is a LifeLine. I am missing my back doors. I like the toilet in the front corner. Mine was from a wrecked (rolled on its side and slid about two feet, given the evidence). Removing the Cabinet grade ply and Formica should have lightened...

    Ambulance body on a trailer?

Well, decided in the short run to put a Gitchner 788 on a frame from a M105A3 (surge brakes, much nicer box, tarp etc, than an A2) Here is a pic of the 105 and one of the shelter. I will keep it LOW profile to keep my kayaks and canoes out of the windstream I will have adapters made to be able...

F-450/550 for work and play? (Building a custom removable camper)

Old 550 is the one with the fender flares, it is sold. Kept the bed and tarp, it will be remoeable over my log bed on the 550 4x4 with the knuckle boom. I just ordered the adapters of the black 350 to run 19.5" tires. I have 6 extra rims here and literally about two dozen 19.5 tires. Cant wait...

    My Off-Road A-Liner

I live VERY close to Aliner and have toured the factory and am even using some scratch and dent stuff from the factory floor (converting a military 788 Shelter into a camper). I must say most RV's dont impress me, BUT it looks like they are REALLY making a nicely designed and engineered product...

F-450/550 for work and play? (Building a custom removable camper)

If you can find one, look for a 1999-2003 7.3 manual 4x4, they are hens teeth in a 450-550 CC/CC. I have a 2002 F350 7.3 auto CC/CC 4x4. They are out there but JUMP on it if you see what you want. I had a 2000 F-550 stand cab, manual 2x, replaced it with, (and still have also) a 2000 F-550 4x4...

F550 DRW to SRW Conversion Question

I have a Detroit locker and 3:91's I bought for my 2000 F-550 when I got it at 120K, I sold it (at 200k ) and bought a 2000 F-550 V10 4x4 and kept them to use in that rig, but after opening up the rearend found it already had a Tru-Track, I decided not to use them, soooo if you or anyone else...
