Are gray hard tops unique to 2005? I have a '04 LJ with a gray top but it was installed by a previous owner. Mine did not come with a hard top when it was purchased new.

This a real problem in Ontario. You can get a licence for home made trailer for a one time cost of $25 that's good for life. You don't have to provide any plans, photos, material list, axle info, lighting details, etc. It could have a chassis made out of 2"x4"s for all they know. I...

I just picked up one of these at Princess Auto for $40 and it works great. The platform is 12"x16" and it folds flat for easy storage. I have it at the second lowest setting so it could handle larger tires than the 245/75/16's I currently have on my XJ.

TexasTJ - I have a TJ & a LJ and use both for the same basic things that you would. I definitely prefer the LJ because of the extra cargo space and towing capacity. I also like the longer wheel base for highway travel. The rear seat is always out in both so I can't comment on access issues...

Nice job on the XJ jonb8 and I'm really enjoying your tear drop build. I'm finishing off an expedition trailer build and plans and parts acquisition are well under way to follow up with a tear drop to be towed behind my XJ. I'll be following this!
