What Heads are you running. truck heads will not like that much timing. I would think 30-32 total would be all they would like. Also no sense trying to tune with bad plugs and wires. I also like to run a remote coil on HEIs, but if not buy a good AC delco cap, Coil and wires. I have not had any...
I do have a spare ECM. It's easy enough to find a match in the junk yard and test. the coolest thing about these trucks is just how easy it is to buy parts. I can't think of a part yet that the store didn't have in stock and i have never had any issue except for going thru a few steering boxes...
A well maintained truck wouldn't need too many spares. For a 93 i would install a manual front diff lock that would cure any problem you would have with the electric unit. Next i would replace your belt with a new one and throw the old one in the spares. I also like to carry a few spare...
Replace, I have never succeeded in rebuilding calipers. Plus you will find it's not that expensive and you can find them with a life time warranty. I try and buy parts like this from a local parts store like Napa or Car Quest. Example I went thru 3 steering boxes before i got one that worked...
Rear drums that are grabbing can be few things. One the brakes could have been installed wrong, there is a front and back shoe. The second that i have seen is rear axel seal leak causing the shoes to swell-up. A third thing could be the shoes sticking to the back plate.
I will admit i haven't needed to use these guys in about 5 years, but when i did they always did a good job. Drive your truck by there and they should get you the right parts. Plus your supporting a local shop and try to buy USA made parts if you can.

I have a good friend that had his custom(home made) RV catch fire while he was asleep inside. While trying to escape several times thru his side door he got 3rd degree burns on his hands, arms and legs. He was lucky that he finally remembered that he had installed in escape hatch in the roof...
There are two kinds of people in the world those that are handicapped and those that will be (1leglance). Although I would not purchase this product I did learn a new technique that I could use to help me in that situation.
I second a GM LS 5.3 swap. Easy to do in your 5000 budget and still aford a nice new welder. Plus it will save you about $1 gallon on the price over diesel.
My 89 suburban came stock with 235/75-16s. I put 285/75-16s E-rated tires on it(same rims). didn't notice any braking issue at all. I'm not saying it didn't affect braking just saying i didn't notice.
Now on my 2007 jeep i went from the stock tire to 255/85-16s and it made a huge diffrents...
No Problem. it happens so often on this site that it doesn't bother me, plus Lance is a super cool dude.
No idea on the trip od. Might have to tare into it and see. likely a gear in the speedo broke. I think they were still gear driven in those years.
My dads 93 Z71 came stock with 265s. Personally i would keep the 265. You will be glad you did when you take it out 4wheeling. I don't think you would even notice a difference on the boat dock.
If we are talking only about late model LS engine based GM trucks
I now need a truck that tows around 7000lbs+. So my vote would be for a 6.0 or 8.1(not LS) 2500 suburban. Gas mileage would not be so much a concern for me. I only drive about 3 miles to work.
If I was building a daily driver...
I work just around the corner from you.
Not sure if you want to spend more money, but i have found it useful to have cable and software to read the ob1 data. If you live near san diego it's possible i can do some data logs for you.
