Interesting. Many times I figure a company that has sudden success has growing pains but then takes the steps necessary to fix the issues. As a result many times I will look at the dates of reviews to see if all the problems were X years ago but the recent ones are good I figure they got the...
I'm a GM fan but I think one key for anything used in that price range is a western truck (which may be easy with your handle? Not sure where you are?). And (at least around here) the premium diesels are getting I would think you would get more for a gasser as well. I will echo the work truck...
Llamalander thanks... I "know" about keeping the wire size larger to minimize voltage drop but have not been sure of the amounts, distance etc to be able to ensure i am using the math correctly. The link is very helpful. I appreciate it!
Right....I knew significant parts could. My comments were more relating to those who saw some.....um "comments" toward the use of a 4x4 on the trail. It's such a great trip I hate seeing any "outdoor adventurers" kept from having a great experience. Definitely one I would enjoy taking. Bike...
It's interesting in the main page of the TAT they specifically reference running it in a 4x4. I've seen some of the comments from ADV motorcycle riders which is fine, but clearly the trail has been planned for some 4x4 use. Would be a cool trip for sure.
Cool. Thanks. I thought the "sprinkler bath" sort of made sense but I wasnt sure. In MA we never get vehicles to last long due to rust. I have a buddy in CO who still has a '69 Chevelle with some spots of bare metal on it. Not a spot of rust on the vehicle. Can ya tell I'm jealous? Haha.
Years...
So I've looked a lot of places here and on the web (on the web I keep getting directed to household 3-way switches). I have seen some dimmer switch diagrams but its usually a single light "system". I have contacted some off road lighting companies hoping they had a diagram for this but did not...
Really like your "evolution" with this truck, and how quickly you are willing to cut your "losses" on stuff that doesn't quite work the way you want. So many times we aren't happy with something but we just "make do" with it. And of course it (whatever we are unhappy with) becomes like a pebble...
Just read your fridge review, glad Luna supported their product. I'm curious why no mention of ARB? I would have thought you would have looked at them anyway. Also I didnt know about the insulating covers and moisture- very interesting. Thanks again for sharing it. I look forward to more and...
I checked out the story and your blog- very cool. Love the review of the Oz Tent too. Good to see the real world experiences. I look forward to reading more of your adventures! Thanks!
Good to know the listed price is not what they actually sell for. Although it makes me wonder how many get turned off by that price on their website and dont look to find them elsewhere. The transfer tank I referenced can do the same thing set up properly (transfer it as needed) which I agree...
Ha. That's great, it is a cool place (Mt Sunflower). Many years ago (80's) I worked in a bar in CO. The Company had bars scattered throughout the west including 1 in KS and one in NE. So we organized a road trip to the tallest mountains in KS and NE and challeneged the bars there to journey to...
Really cool trip(s)….thanks for posting! Cool how others just fit right in - as was mentioned- different approaches, different vehicles choices etc but everyone enjoys getting out there and doing it. Really great!
How do you wash your vehicle to keep the salt at bay? Living in the northeast...
I get that. I just hate the cost of the Titan ones. I saw you said you had an option that was "less" costly, which would be good- their list of $2K for 30 gals is nuts IMO. I feel the same about their extended factory tanks that replace stock tanks. I wonder if this is one of those things you...
Ah...gotcha...my bad. Sorry! Thought I had a solution for you. Not sure I would want to cut up the bed for the access either. You're dead set against Jerry cans? :)
Your bed is a 8' right?(I think all Tradesman's are 8' beds? Maybe I'm wrong- if so my bad!) I thought the Decked systems (for 8' beds) left a gap at the cab. In any event- if you DO have that gap (I think its like 15-18"?) you could do a regular "think" transfer tank in the bed no? Then tie it...
Hey question for you...how have you found the Fox shocks? I wonder if they make sense for someone who doesnt do a lot of serious fast off reading. Part of me thinks OEM shocks make sense given the price differential (but acknowledging that they would certainly wear out faster). But the other...
