Truck-Lite vs. J.W Speaker LED Headlights

Your video would have been very useful...a year ago. Today, it's worthless. If you are going to do a valid comparison of the lights, you need to adjust them correctly and use the latest versions. It appears that you used the old, discontinued version of the JW Speaker lights...and were either...

Ooof... I hate when this happens.....ARB fridge

Just about any remote thermometer will work. The trick is finding one where the "indoor" module that receives the readings isn't huge. I use one by NexxTech. The indoor module sits in the JK dash tray and is only about 3"x2"x1". Amazon has quite a few with small indoor modules.

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

Sounds like you had a good time...and missed the biggest crowds which arrive Thursday and Friday. You passed right by my cabin if you did the LaSal Loop. I'm up at the top of Castle Valley, but hidden down next to the creek. I'll have to do Deadman's Point one of these days. I've been to...

AEV Salta Wheels are now available!!

Funny how a thread about Salta wheels is now all about lights. Anyhow, I saw the JW Mopar lights at last year's Jeep Safari and the guys at the display said they were tooling up to produce them and they would be out soon. A year later and still no lights. I'll ask about them again when they...

AEV Salta Wheels are now available!!

I don't particularly like the look of the Saltas, but then I'm not hot on spoked wheels in general. I don't like the Pintlers either. I have the argent Savegres and am very happy with them. They are an extremely strong wheel and, in my opinion, look great. Could I have bought cheaper wheels...

Renegade concept at Detroit Auto Show

I agree that Jeep quality has not fallen off a cliff. My girlfriend had a Fiat 500 and now has a 500L. Both have been reliable vehicles without a single problem...and she puts a lot of miles on them. We plan to buy her a Renegade no later than June. I sat in one and inspected it pretty...

    ARB Fridge "Clunk"

I've had my 63-qt ARB mounted in the Jeep for more than a year. It's right behind the passenger seat and I've never heard any clunk.

    explore alone?

At nearly 68 years of age (more than 40 of that in Moab), 99.9% of my Jeeping has been alone...or with a beautiful lady riding shotgun. I have to laugh at (and feel sorry for) most folks in another forum who chant the mantra "Never Jeep Alone." Respect your limits. Know your route. And carry...

Renegade concept at Detroit Auto Show

Sheesh. I haven't been in this thread in awhile and haven't gone back past this page this morning to see what is prompting Kojack's childish, misguided and misguiding rants. I can say, however, that my '08 Tundra TRD was, by far, the best and most problem-free vehicle I've ever owned...and...

Google Earth Pro is now free.

That's like saying there is no difference between a Rubicon and a Sport. If you never use lockers or any other features specific to the Rubicon, then there is no difference other than the coolness of the sticker on the hood. Google Earth Pro has several features not available on the standard...

Google Earth Pro is now free.

Wow...thanks for the heads up. I had Pro quite a few years ago when it was considerably cheaper than $399/year...but not as cheap as free.

    ARB 50 QT -- Buyer's Remorse?

I have a 63-qt ARB mounted on a custom deck that covers the area where the back seat used to be in my '13 JKU. There is storage under the deck and in/on a Tuffy Security deck in the rear. The 63-qt fits like a glove lengthwise between the back seat and the Tuffy deck. I can open it almost all...

Renegade concept at Detroit Auto Show

Chrysler had a Trailhawk at their Jeep Safari display last April. It was bigger and taller than I expected it to be. The interior is pretty roomy. I've also seen 4 or 5 Renegades cruising around Moab, all with Michigan plates. I don't think they look bad at all. . .

    Fridgefreezer mounting?

I had a large FridgeFreeze in the back of my Tundra for years. They are the best, in my opinion...but also very expensive. I paid around $2000 for mine. I now have a similar capacity ARB in the Jeep, mainly because of the ARB's smaller external dimensions and lower weight. It's not nearly as...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

Sorry, but doing the Beef Basin/Elephant Hill Loop in a single day doesn't sound like any fun at all to me...much less coming in over Elk Ridge clear from Blanding. It reminds me of a short video with my friend Ed Abbey in which he satirically rushes through Arches in an old red Cadillac...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

Google Shafer Trail. Nice pictures are guaranteed. It's not on the safari list because a good portion of it is in Canyonlands National Park, and because it is an extremely easy trail...about the same level of difficulty as Chicken Corners, if not easier. You will reach the trailhead by going...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

Elephant Hill and or Beef Basin are great trails, but quite a ways outside of Moab requiring an hour or two of highway driving each way. The ruins in Beef Basin are amazing, but it is a multi-day trip. Elephant Hill used to be a lot more fun. Somewhere around 30 years ago, the NPS filled in...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

The EJS is granted exclusive use to only a few of the higher-rated, gonzo trails on certain days. The majority of those are rated 7-8. The OP is not interested in those trails. Early in the week, groups on the easier trails are usually not that huge...except for perhaps Fins n Things...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

If you are not a fan of crowds, then EJS might not the best time to be in Moab...though the first few days of the Safari aren't that bad. Since I've done most of the trails and hate going in huge groups, my favorite part of EJS is checking out all the displays in town and the massive vendor...
