    A Scrambler's Homecoming

Here it is on the way back Saturday. I'm no longer a fan of lights anywhere above the hood, so the light bar was the first thing to go. I've always counted that light bar as the stupidest mistake I ever made with a Jeep. Even with spot beam patterns and glare guards, there was too much light...

    A Scrambler's Homecoming

In 1982, I proudly drove a shiny new Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler home from the dealership. My new mechanical friend and I spent 14 years exploring the backcountry trails around Moab, where I've lived since early 1974. Moab was a sleepy little mining town back then and rock-crawling meant getting down on...

    A New Generator?

Living 26 miles outside of Moab, my power goes out relatively often, sometimes for nearly 24 hours at a time. I've had a Yamaha EF2000iS for 5 years and it has been very reliable. It's quiet and I've never had to pull it more than twice to start it...even after sitting for many months between...

    Flat Floor for Jeep JKU

A few more photos: This is still available. There has been quite a bit of interest in it. I've had numerous people on this forum and another tell me they wanted it or were coming to pick it up...even asking for directions or where to send the money. Then I don't hear from them again.

    Flat Floor for Jeep JKU

This is still available. So far, I've had 2 guys tell me they were coming to pick it up. Neither did.

    Flat Floor for Jeep JKU

I've gotten several PMs on this...some offering to pre-pay. Since this is a one-off custom piece, I don't want to take anyone's money until they see it. I'll help install it when it is picked up...but your back seat needs to be out (bring the seat mounting bolts/nuts though). Basically, it...

Bestop 2-piece Soft Doors for JKUR w/mirrors

I traded my '13 JKUR in a couple of months ago but these doors did not go with the Jeep. They are in extremely nice condition. I will also throw in quick-release mirrors that mount to the windshield frame. No shipping...pick up in Moab only. $600 for the set of 4 and mirrors. (Note...

    Flat Floor for Jeep JKU

I had this made for my '13 JKUR. I removed it and re-installed the back seat when I traded the Jeep in a few months ago. It provides a flat floor in the rear with storage in the footwell area under the trap doors. The rear seats must be removed to use this. It is an easy bolt-in design...

    GPS unit recommendations

I've been using GPSs and teaching land navigation (maps, compass, gps) for 25 years...since long before Selective Availability was turned off. I've used DeLorme, Lowrance, and Garmin and have always found the Garmin's to be easier to use and more appropriate for our use (Search and Rescue) in...

    Pretty Cool Little Lantern

The solar-powered Luci lights are nice. I bought several of them when they first came out a couple of years ago. They come in handy since my power goes out rather often here in the wilderness. They hold a charge for a long time.

    My new candle lanterns

I still have a couple of old ones lying around:

    Pretty Cool Little Lantern

There are lots of those little dome-type lights out there now. The Eddie Bauer you bought looks identical to the Supernova Halo 180, except the Supernova is, according to the specs, 50% brighter and is rechargeable via USB. I have a couple of the Supernovas and have been very happy with them.

    Watches - ExPo Style

I had a Suunto Observer Titanium for quite a few years and loved it...but wanted something more modern with more features, including GPS. I picked up the Garmin Fenix 3 Sapphire and have been extremely impressed with it. The GPS is spot on and there are a growing number of apps available for it.

    2015 GMC Canyon

Interesting top...looks good. If I would have seen them, I might have gone that route for temporary bed coverage rather than going with the hard tri-fold tonneau cover. It would have been cheaper too. I've been waiting for Snugtop to start producing their shells for the short bed Canyon...

    2015 GMC CANYON

I'll second the photo demand. It's interesting to see what other folks are doing with this relatively rare truck. I've had my '16 SLT Crewcab Shortbed for 2 months and love it. I drove larger trucks (F-250s, Tundras, etc.) for a long time and just got tired of big trucks. The Canyon is much...

    2015 GMC Canyon

I received the N-Fab Rock Rails yesterday and was surprised to see that they mount to the body rather than to the frame. I've installed rock rails/sliders on numerous trucks and Jeeps and they have always been frame-mounted. It looks like your rails mount to the frame also, which certainly...

N-Fab RSP Front Bumpers w/Light Mounts

I would not recommend N-Fab either. I just received their Rock Rails for a 2016 GMC Canyon yesterday. They mount to the body rather than to the frame, so are more ornamental than protective. Their website does not mention that they are body-mounted. I simply assumed they mounted to the frame...

    2015 GMC Canyon

I was looking for a surface-mount 12v switch but could not find any. I considered the sPOD (very popular with Jeeps) but I don't anticipate needing multiple switches since my compressor is portable and I don't need to direct-wire the fridge as I did in my Jeep. sPod does have several different...

    2015 GMC Canyon

Just curious...where did you mount the switch for your light bar? I received the bull bar yesterday and the 20" Rigid E2 series light will be here Monday. I haven't looked closely yet, but I did feel behind the lower dash panels and there seems to be a metal brace behind just about every...
