Are you guys really getting moisture intrusion into your FWC? It almost sounds like the roof is too lightweight. I ended up buying a Hallmark, and I'm super happy, but we almost did buy a FWC and hadn't heard of this issue before. I'm very curious. What are your thoughts?
Slowly chipping away at the details. That trim filler to cover the screws on the rear hatch doors is a REAL PITA to put in, but it's done now. Added my flags, and then added the awning brackets, which will also be the mounts for the upper 1515 8020. I'm very ready to get onto the solar part of...
I've been needing to go to Alcan for springs a couple years now. I hope to take a trip to them this year. Please post up what you think of them once on.
Short day today due to afternoon obligations, but the bottom is all sanded and painted, the last LED lights wired in, the wheel wells are undercoated, and the new tires on the freshly coated wheels are on. Hopefully tomorrow I can start putting up the awning plates and get the awnings on. 🤞...
Got the white all taped up and plastic wrapped today. It was still wet when I took this picture, but the roof is now bedlined. My wife jumped up and taped off the AC unit for me. Should have zero issues in the future with the roof. Also taped up the entire lower areas and I will be sanding...
Spent the day getting the steps mounted, as well as the rear tail lights, and a small wiring repair. I have a NOS wiring harness for this trailer already, but this one is still perfectly fine, so I'd rather use up as much of its life as possible before swapping in the new one. I've also gotten...
I think once you get that trailer leveled out you may have less tongue weight than you do now, and thus less squat. I'd get that fixed first and see how you like it. It's definitely not looking overly squatted, and getting the tongue weight distribution right will help that even more. Great...
While the paint was drying yesterday on my trailer.... https://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/family-adventure-m1102-trailer-build.235492/page-8#post-3216330
....I was actually able to throw on the rear shocks after having them for 4 months. 🤣
I hope to get the fronts on by mid May. LOL
I...
Getting the new Truck-Lite LED's on, as well as NOS light tubs, and NOS reflectors. I drilled out the rivet holes to add riv-nuts, and I'm using stainless button head screws for everything to make it easily serviceable. Then started adding back the original front step, and the side table before...
I used a heavy duty industrial marine paint from UC Coatings. Ended up with 1.5 gallons on the trailer in total. I used standard thinner and duplicolor wax and grease remover for everything else.
