Roof mounted Larsen 2M antenna *PICS*

With a spring on it you should be OK hitting things at 10'. The antennas are pretty tough!

Roof mounted Larsen 2M antenna *PICS*

Great Job - The only suggestion I have would be to get the Larson spring mount for the antenna. The spring will reduce the pressure on the roof of the truck when the antenna strikes trees. I don't think its necessary for fendor mounts, but well worth it for roof mounts.

    HID vs LED

IMO - LED - Great for close to medium range lighting needs, particular flood lights, rock lights, work lights, and general illumination. Relatively maintenance free, and low power consumers. Generate little heat on the lens, but the back side of the lights generate coniserable amounts of heat...

    Auxiliary Cell Phone Antennas

I think if the phone has an external antenna jack, then you do not need a cradle. If the phone does not have a antenna jack, then you use the phone with a cradle, and then have to use a headset of sorts.

    Ice vs dry ice.

When using dry ice to keep things cold, put it in the bottom of the cooler with ice on top of it. The ice will act as insulation keeping the food from freezing while the dry ice keeps the ice from melting. To keep foods frozen, but the dry ice on top of the food. Well worth doing.

Show me your bumpers after 100K miles

I want to know about your bumbers after they have been on the road for a while. Do they look nice or has all the powder coating flaking off? ARB? Road Armor? Olympic? Warn? Would you buy it again?

Another aux. light wiring question (I've searched already)

For the forward facing lights, I would install a ON/OFF/ON switch. In the first position, the off road lights will come on with the brights, in the other on position manually turns the lights. The advantage of the interconnect with the brights, allows you to dim all your lights with one switch...

    Auxiliary Cell Phone Antennas

Thanks for the tempting offer. I'm a bit poor this year, the era of "Hope and Change" has turned into the year of "change and hope" - its horrible not being able to feed my habbit.

    Auxiliary Cell Phone Antennas

I have Verizon service, with a LG Phone. I though my phone had an antenna port on the back, and I was looking for an auxiliary antenna to connect it to. I am working an event in a couple of weeks, and cell phone coverage is weak due to the terrain. I considering investing in an antenna for less...

    Auxiliary Cell Phone Antennas

I'm thinking about getting a booster, but I thought I would try an antenna first! Reviews on either products would be helpful.

    4 door Long bed???

Long Bed can only come with the TRD Sport package, and not the TRD Off Road package. Most car dealers are not educated enough to tell the difference. The 17" Wheels are worthless, and Craigs listed mine and was able to purchase a set of wheels from a TRD Off Road and not loose much money. I...

mods you wouldnt do again ...

TJ - Mileage may vary with conditions. By installing the new gears, the Jeep's mileage returned to origional. My guess is that I can pull 15-16 city, 18-19 Highway. On country/mountain roads without the roof rack traveling at 50MPH, I can sneak it into the 20. I really don't keep track of...

mods you wouldnt do again ...

A couple of bad mods: Trail Master Exhaust on a Nissan Hardbody PK back in the day. It was essentially a "Y" pipe after the catalytic that sent the exhaust through two glass packs. The exhaust was all stainless, but really loud, the kids today would have loved it, but nothing stealth about the...
