good theory as to how it missed the mark.

No concerns with Transmission? What else uses the specific transmission the Gren uses?

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

Do you have a link to threads about axles on the IG forum? If so please share! *Edit - If this is the Forum you are talking about - not much substance or any real tech related discussions that I can find: https://www.theineosforum.com/forums/transmission-transfer-case-axles.877884/ The only...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

As a comparison on the IH8mud (Landcruiser forum) they are already discussing R&P size, axle dimensions and other mechanical components of the new LC/GX and it's not even out yet...just as a comparison, among many other tech discussions...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

The only other forums I'm part of are dirtbike and MTB forums and it's much more technical and practically based, I guess I can say the same for the LC forum I used to be part of (IH8mud).....specs, ease of maintenance, much more hands on and spec based. Never been on a watch, bourbon or car...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

Found this on the IG forum which I thought was interesting and what I've brought up several times, the "KEY" which was hailed as a simple old school solution seems like it is simply an adaptation of the push button and not a real operational key in the historical sense. From the other forum...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

LS Swap kit is well known and is a "thing" with stand alone harnesses, motor mounts, etc. Engine isn't new but in this application it is, workarounds, fixes, etc all exist for most rigs. Does anybody know about maintenance schedules or manuals for the IG yet? They must exist.... But other...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

I don't think oil pumps are an issue but was just pointing out how there is no design thought about ease of maintenance on a rig that seems to be marketed at the next coming of LC70 series. I'm not an expert on BMW's but what else needs to come apart to change general maintenance items? In 5+...

Pulling cab is a Ford thing isn't it? Easy to do with a lift....pulling sealed mechanical systems apart is much more complex. Problems with oil pumps is uncommon but catastrophic and has much shorter service intervals than turbos on a full sized pickup.

Agreed, not even close - grass is always greener, I think the Aussies would go crazy over a single cab american truck, stronger, more capable, more durable....reliability probably isn't quite there but it ticks a lot of boxes for remote travel vs a single cab Toyota pickup they use often.

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

Detuning for high torque doesn't necessarily mean less stress, less RPM but low RPM doesn't = low wear, in some cases it's worse. But I still don't buy it - electric may do them in but repairability and cost to repair has always been a huge issue with Beemers the oil pump being a prime...

Sounds like Stellantis is on the right path.

I trust science too - there is a big body of evidence that says screen time, stress and socially distant lifestyle is not good for our health....let alone how we eat and our relationship with "fitness" (the lack of or the abuse of) these days. I guess it really depends on how you define...

Sounds like Stellantis is on the right path.

He was a bit shortsighted but for every Charles H. Duell in 1899 you had somebody in the 50/60's predicting we'd be driving nuclear cars, living in underwater cities and flying to Mars on a regular basis. I think we live MUCH more simply than anybody would of predicted 70 years ago...the one...

Pragmatism is too. Anybody can wax and wain about technology and if it's better for us, but I'll argue that you and I as kids lived lives more similar to your grandparents (we are probably sim age) than to kids of today in a number of ways and I am not convinced things are getting 'better'...

Sounds like Stellantis is on the right path.

If ever? I mean there are a lot of technologies out there but how many will actually come to fruition? It's easy to look at tech and assume it scales like Moores law....but we've reached a point with batteries that we may not get much better, at least in near future. We hear all the time that...

Grenadier: AluCab Pop Up Conversion a Reality

Hence why Toyota has never imported them....after they novelty wears off it's just another rig, an expensive one at that, that rides like a 1980's Toyota mini-truck with pathetic performance numbers that would struggle to keep up with traffic (looking at the 1HZ). I see them locally a lot -...

2024 Land Cruiser in the USA?

Still confused and disagree - FF axles are common on HD pickups still to this day, my 2021 has one as do the new trucks, can't speak for Chevy, but ALL Ford and Dodge 3/4T and 1T do so any Ram or Ford truck dealership won't have an issue. They are easier to work on, that is the whole point...

Are you suggesting those are all harder on a FF axle? Again - not tracking with your logic....or @XJLI

Fix what on a FF axle? The axle shaft itself?

2024 Land Cruiser in the USA?

It may be semantics but it seems like a way to increase load carrying capacity using current axle architecture but there are certainly SF axles that carry much more weight than this, like the LC200/300 and all the 1/2T pickups out there. Did the payload capacity actually increase on these rigs...
