Off Road Trailer Group Buy (M416 Style) ***Closed***

Would love to see some more pics, and hear what you new owners have done with / to your trailers... What’s worked, and what would you change or add if you could?

    Front Runner Modular Awning

No experience with FrontRunner, but Ironman 4x4 has a similar setup which I have. They have a quick release mounting system that works with many brands of awning...with that and 2 additional poles, you can quickly remove the awning from the vehicle and free-stand it anywhere. It’s been great...

    Comms questions

For those advocating HAM, in your opinion is a single-band (2m) adequate, or would you suggest dual? I’ll be testing for my technicians ticket as soon as things open up again. Thinking about what radio I want in the GX470. Thanks

    New "Enhanced MVUM"

Just received my first one...Deschutes NF, Sisters District, Northern Section. It’s very well done. Has the MVUM routes clearly mapped with color legends, and ”other” NSF roads in grey-scale legend. And the Tyvek is the way to go...rolls nicely, but feels robust. These are so nice in fact that I...

    Darche vs Oztent

No experience with Darche, but we have an Oztent rv5. Pros... -very well built, quality materials. Will last years if put away dry, or allowed to dry out as soon as possible after putting away damp. -sets up quickly, specially if not deploying the built-in awning. The tent body truly sets up in...

Current Reviews for Free Spirit RTT

Real world, but not real helpful... I just bought the High Country 63” Premium. Picked it up from their HQ in Bend, OR, installed it in their parking lot. Haven’t used it yet in the wild... Impressions so far: -Build quality...excellent. Great materials, robust design and execution. -Customer...

Freespirit Recreation Odyssey Tent - Any info out there? Opinions about GoFSR?

Saw one in person at their warehouse in Bend yesterday. Really nice, great quality components. I’m looking at a soft-top due to price, but the Odyssey has me re-evaluating.

Recommendation- tepui ruggedized Autana 3, ARB Simpson III or Gordigear Explorer Plus

Interesting. Thank you for the honest opinion. Not to derail the OPs thread, but do you have an opinion about Free Spirit RTTs, particularly the High Country models with the “tri-layer” material. Thank you!

    GX470 suspension and wheel upgrade

Looks good... What tire size? Interesting about the sluggish steering. I did basically the same thing, and steering became a bit lighter and quicker. I did install new UCAs though, so my caster is different.

    Cheaper alternative to ARB awning?

Iron Man... 6x8 (roughly) about $250, 8x8 about $270. Includes an LED light strip. Very nice quality.
