I need a small trailer to haul my camping stuff. I'll have to drag it up around to the back of my house by hand for storage, so weight is key. I was about to get a HF red trailer, but found Northern Tool has an aluminum one with LED lights and diamond plate fenders. I don't see any stake...
I have the ARB 50qt fridge on the passenger side. I'm looking for the perfect combination of Rubbermaid bins, action packers, or something else that will stack up to the roof and allow me to carry my camping gear in an organized fashion. Last weekend I had 3 sleeping bags and pads, tent...
For non-storm condition winds- I use cargo tie downs to everything that's heavy. Coolers, fuel cans, tree trunk, bumper of truck, fat guy in folding chair...
I could utilize one of the extra unused circuits so I have 2 30 amp relays and 2 runs of positive wire to the socket.
I did find out that the ARB only needs 14 ga up to 19' run. I found out the trail rocker uses TXL rated 12 gauge wire, so I think I'm safe with what I got for 1.3 amps...
I'm running a Painless wiring trail rocker setup. Not sure what wire they come with, 14, 12? It's on a 30amp relay direct to battery. 8ga will require rewiring the whole system.
Polarity was right. Turns out it was a bum ground. I tried 2 different locations in the back of the Jeep JKU and none of them were grounded, even after going to bare metal. I ended up sandwiching a 12ga loop to the bolt between the tail gate hinge plate and the body (wire brush/dremeled to...
New 50qt ARB fridge. Runs fine on 110VAC. I just wired up my rig and installed it. Nothing. I have 14 gauge wire running off a 30amp dedicated circuit (painless wiring trail rocker) and using the ARB socket. I have 12.7 volts all the way to the plug that goes into the fridge. I hold the...
New fridge. It's empty and plugged in to AC power. I first set it as 37, and when I went to check on it, it's showing 32. Then I set it to 41 and come back a few hours later and it's 31? Why is it running 10 degrees colder than set? Is it messed up? Or maybe reading funny because it's...
Well my griddle is MIA. For $40, this made in the USA one might do the trick. I think it'll *just* fit too.

Ooooh.... I think i have a cast iron griddle- smooth on one side, ribbed on the other. I tried to use on top of the weber Q, but it didn't get hot enough for bacon and fried eggs. Maybe on top of the coleman it'll work. I'll see if it fits.
Uggg, the rainier has terrible reviews on amazon. I'll keep looking
Oh and the o-grill leaks grease and is made poorly. Consumer reports said they had a recall for regulators catching fire. Jeeez.
I'm in the processes of downsizing my gear. I have a Weber Q that's always worked great on trips, but boy does it take up some real estate in the back of the Jeep. And it rattles and bangs off road. What's a good tiny grill for burgers and hotdogs? Or maybe I should just stick to food that...
Great thread, and the first to have me thing about something old and free and not a new expensive widget. I'm going to "borrow" my dad's 70's coleman gasser. I plan to avoid propane for my next adventure. I'm leaving the coleman lantern and stove at home. I do have a new LED lantern coming...
Yup, that's part of my thinking. I don't want to built a platform or other "system" because the JKU is my daily driver and normally does duty hauling 2 kids to school and I use the back more often that not to haul stuff around.
My two expensive tents are ultralight "tarptents" made for...
I'm heading up to the Vermont Overland Rally in October. I'll be travelling solo and I'm going to be going with my new ARB 50QT fridge and a few rubbermaids full of camping gear. I have a 3" self inflating mattress and nice sleeping bag. I'm 5' 10". Will I be comfy with the rear seats down...
