I haven't seen any Mack rigs on here. Not unreasonably priced for only 90k miles but it is from upstate NY Sale includes shop and parts manuals. Probably an indication it's not a common model...
Insurance has agreed to pay for the replacement of the hail damaged roof on my 95 Northstar TS 1000. I've asked the dealer if it's possible for me to make some improvements to the roof before he installs it. Haven't heard back yet. I have in mind coating the perimeter wood with epoxy on the...
Got a small intermittent brake fluid leak, apparently from the vicinity of the brake fluid reservoir. Just got home from a 2500 mile trip and initially noticed my foot was slipping on the clutch pedal. Last time this happened the clutch master was leaking on to the pedal. But pedal was dry...
We've got a fair number of roof rebuild threads on here with pictures and I've looked at a fair number of different truck pop up camper roofs which seem identical even though the camper manufacturers are different. This leads me to believe that one company must be making roofs and selling them...
Northstar TS 1000 3 way frig. It's gotten hard to get lit. Lights with the piezio but won't stay lit when I let off the manual gas button. Problem seems to me that the flame is too small, not heating the thermocouple enough to activate it. Eventually it will stay lit after many tries. I...
Dropped off my 99 FG at the dealer today to install the front spring bushings. He made some interesting comments. First he told me never to sell my truck. It was the best truck Fuso made. Then he showed me some interesting warranty records on newer trucks, both 2012 (I think). First one had...
Ran across this thread. Anyone else hears of tricking the boost air temp sensor with a resistor to increase power?

Ran across this tonight. Not sure I'd seen a reference to it on here so I thought I'd post a link.

99 FG. There's a butterfly valve in the front of the intake manifold controlled by vacuum. What is the purpose of that valve? Mine moves freely, perhaps too freely. I wonder if it leaks around the shaft.
Also, there is (apparently) a boost sensor mounted on the front of the intake manifold...
FG air filters are not cheap. On the off chance that people are not aware of these devices I thought I'd post a link. I've had them on a number of turbo diesels I've owned and liked them. Just ordered one for the FG. I think it should fit on the top center of the outlet end of the air filter...
Was climbing up to the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 West side in 4th gear when near the top the temperature gauge starting rising a bit and shortly after I heard a high pitched whine. Surprised me at first and it went away quickly after heading downhill in the tunnel so it only lasted a minute or...
Found a reference to this parts supplier on a landscape forum. Poster claims they have a huge inventory and next day shipping along with good tech support. Looks like they have used parts also.

My 94 Northstar TS 1000 had a roof leak prior to my purchase. I stopped the leak but the vinyl skin on the interior roof panel had separated from the thin plywood ceiling panel and eventually pulled out from under the trim nailed on the joint between the two panels. It drooped down and was...
Ran across this in Warsaw, upstate NY. Homebuilt from the cab back. Current owner bought it with a cargo box on the back. Removed the box and discovered the frame was toast. It still had it's original coating but underneath was so rotten he could twist and break it with his bare hands once...
Four of us paddled the Wild and Scenic Missouri River from Coal Bank Landing to James Kipp Recreation area (105 miles) in Montana between Sept 27 and Oct 2 2015. We had originally intended a 6 night 7 day trip but inclement weather arrived on night 5 so it turned into a 5 night 6 day trip. The...
