New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

Modern transmissions are pretty clueless out of the box, especially if it already started learning someone else ahead of you.

I had thought about doing something similar with the winch, probably would have been easier when it is all said and done too. I ran that later overflow/washer jug for awhile too, it didn't fit with the cruise control servo when i added cruise though.

New Tacoma vs Colorado vs Ranger

If you think you hate it now wait until you drive one. I drove a new Colorado a little while ago at work, the stealth bomber tribute stamped into the hood was a tad ridiculous.

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

In the uk for popularity they were similar to the gm LS. They were common, compact footprint, lightweight, made good power and were easily swapped around in the uk before rover bought the design. My point was the rover wasn't a very good comparison because rover kind of did the equivalent of...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

Rover bought the engine, if something needed changed like exhaust routing they just yell down the hall and engineering redesigns the exhaust. Higher rpm isn't bad if the engine is built for it. Compact V8's of the day were not really torque monsters qnd most were heavier anyway. The...

good theory as to how it missed the mark.

The Buick/rover v8 is kinda different. They were popular for swaps and modifying in the uk because of their small size and light weight before rover acquired the design... much like the ls in the us and for that matter the sbc that proceeded it. And they used the design for 40 years but Rover...

The Lump: Long Distance Comfort in LHD

Playing with old Discoverys in the JY and my wife's Bronco I figured the B pillar thing was something you put up with to brace off of when offroading lol. My Ranger being a truck isn't like that but it isn't really designed as an "offroad truck" from the get go either. The thing on the floor...

Mortonm's 2022 Ford Bronco Black Diamond

I am going to have a really hard time getting rid of the Generals. I have them on both my Ranger and her Bronco and I really like them. The only reason they are not on my F-150 is because nobody had them. I had Falken AT3's on my previous F-150 and they were a really good tire. I think the...

Sleeping Platform / Storage / Kitchen Options

Basically what I am thinking about doing with my truck. I had thought about the big drawers but it all adds up fast and it locks in what you can do back there. I was am thinking about making my platform split so I can have room behind it for a cooler/water etc when actually driving.

    Falken Wildpeak AT4W

I really liked the AT3W, I have sold a ton of them too. Kind of my go-to AT farm truck tire.

And I noticed I have a buzzing noise at high speed with the front hubs locked in. I so I tore apart the side I thought it was coming from and sure enough the shaft is all buggered up where the spindle bearing runs. I very vaguely remember it when i swapped the axle in but since I didn't have a...

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

And not sure if I have posted it here but a couple years ago I snagged a Smittybilt 9500lb winch. My plan is to recreate the look of the factory Ford accessory winch mount/grille guard. but to use a receiver mount because: a. My truck has a bodylift and the brackets to relocate the front...

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

Well I guess I ought to give an update on the ol' girl since I just noticed I haven't done anything in over a year... Last winter I rebuilt the cylinder heads (E6 heads if any Ford fans are out there) original to the engine (touched up the valves/seats, new seals and Trick-Flow upgraded...

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

I probably new 12 years ago when I put them in. Mine are used so I don't know if they would exactly meet the rating anyway. They ride a little stiff unladen with my standard cab, with my fiberglass topper and tire carrier it rides perfect with just enough rake, with my slide in camper it also...

    2006 Ford full of rANGER

91-01, I have the springs (and axle) out of a '96 in mine. 4wd is torsion bar. For a cheap work truck I would just crank the t-bars. 2wd is usually coil spring. Certain packages like "Edge" and "Trailhead" are torsion bar and are actually kinda easy to convert to 4wd at least front axle-wise.
