Hey we put my SS1.2 on my '96 runner 5spd 4x4 two days ago. Today I got a set 285/75-16's and now there's issues.
The inner boots (closest to the engine) of my CV's are throwing grease from the seal around the shaft! Not tons of grease, but it's only been a couple days and I haven't been...
CA-RJ thanks for the link. The wheels look brand new and all -but $180 is still a little high for me. I dunno I guess it's I can't justify spending more money for a used and stock toyota wheel. Thanks for the reply though
Yeah the I like the 80's series wheels as well. I've been watching ebay and have not found a good deal. Heck the online retailers want more then $150 for USED cond. wheels! That being said--Got a hookup or a low-down on some LC wheels?
I know wheel/tire size is a lot of personal preference for 3rd gen runners or any vehicle for that matter -but I haven't tried enough combinations out to make up my own preference yet lol! So I'm installing my SS1.2 on wed-thursday at last! Just been waiting for some warm non-snowy weather...
Thanks for the rear shock pointers guys. I've done some more reading and the install seems pretty simple. I'm still not sure on how to dial in the adjustments on the rear panhard though... I'll keep reading.
Hi all! Just got my Sonoran Steel 1.2 in the mail. I'm done some pretty involved work on autos/motorcycles but I've never installed a full suspension lift before. Has anyone done a build page step by step? I could use a reference.
Thanks Marc
Hirbie nice write up your set up seems really well thought out. I think I might steal your expanding painters pole idea. What do you use for straps to attach the tarp? Thanks Marc
KSJeep, thanks for the post that was pretty much the same thing I was thinking of for a $ saver, simple, versatile components...& if it's damaged your out $35 bucks :) With my rear hatch up one of those could be really nice. On the other hand those Hannible ones look indestructible. Hmmm
Hi all! Didn't want to steal JonnyS's thread even though they are pretty similar. My friend and I will be Overlanding in Baja from May to June. I think some kind of awning/shade would really be nice to get out of the sun. Considering a freestanding shelter type or building one from the side (or...
Wow there are some impressively long lists on here. I'm heading on my first long (30day) overland trip in a few months. We'll take a few of these longer lists with us and check off the "wish I had this" items we left at home for next time. I really like the 12v blender for margs idea! Cheers
Hey Joel. I'm a new guy on this forum as well, but considered the same questions you have for a while. I'm also interested to know what the overland veterans have to say as my truck will be more expedition then crawler.
Oh yeah I hear you guys. I've done plenty of reading on other peoples trips and this is how prepaired WE are: We're actually bringing 2 mexicans with us. Haha two guys I work with grew up down they're great dudes. So they'll gonna show us around down there.
