    Wheels for Off-Road M/Ts/Off-Set & Back Space?

I've got 285/75R/16 Goodyear MT/Rs on 16x8 rims with 4.25" backspacing and zero offset. I initially had my MT/Rs on stock rims, but the backspacing and tire size caused a bit of rubbing on my upper control arms.

"Jeeputer" - Xenarc Fanless PC Install

During my ongoing research of installing either a laptop or tablet PC into my 4Runner, I found this write up on the installation of a mini PC in a Jeep Wrangler. Though it appears to be a bit cost prohibitive for me at the moment, some of you might benefit from the write-up for your future...

Optima Red Top vs. Yellow top

Go with a Blue Top. You get a starting and deep cycle battery. I installed a D34M in my 4Runner. The extra post and wing nuts aid with wiring accessories too.

    Digital Picture Frames

Who uses them and which brands/models do you like? I'm leaning towards the Philips USA Model 7FF1M4/37 but most places are sold out. Interested in giving as a gift, so it must be very user-friendly to use. Thanks.

Best way to bring wiring through roof..

On my 4Runner, we ran the wires from my 6 Hellas behind the rubber door seal from driver side rear passenger door down into the engine compartment to the relays. I'd be interested too in seeing how folks bring their wires through the roof.

    4runner electric locker question ...

Nope, that's not for a rear E-Locker. The '01 4Runners are not equipped with front or rear lockers from the factory. That switch is for the center diff. I think the switch you're referring to is in the upper right corner: "For 2001, a center differential lock switch has been provided on the...

    2001 4Runner ... let the mods begin

Jeff, You can fit a 33" tire hanging at the stock location, but there's a catch. Do you have the tow bar? If so, you will have to air down the spare to make it fit. I removed my tow bar years ago and with it gone you can mount an inflated 33" tire with no problems. I've currently storing a...

    Sleeping Pads

Brian, Are you car camping or hiking? If you're car camping and a bulky sleeping pad isn't an issue, pick up some foam from your local G Street Fabrics, arts & crafts supplier or sewing shop. I bought some nice 4" foam padding really cheap and it has held up for a couple of years. I'll need...

I had some minor condensation on the roof of my tent cot as well. I solved that problem by using some wood cloths pins to keep the flaps open. If it starts to rain, pull the pins.

EP East Coast Fall Trip (Location Thread) October 20-23, 2006

I recommend avoiding GWNF in October for a trail run location for a few reasons: (1) October is when the leaves begin to change color and GWNF will be a popular destination, (2) many local Virginia and Maryland clubs will be in GWNF on the weekends, (3) non-offroaders will be in the area as...
