Although North America specs have yet to be announced, most magazines speculate that the awesome 5-liter V8 engine will be discontinued on our market as well, and replaced by the same S/C V6 petrol with 8-speed transmission and start/stop technology already announced in Frankfurt for the "ROW"...
Axes make for dramatic photo ops! Would a guy standing there holding a big smoky yellow chainsaw even be worthy of a shot? :) Seriously, what a great picture, very Camel Trophyish. Can't wait to see more.
For the resident techs on the forum, is a load index of 109 acceptable for the LR4? Seems a little on the low end, for some reason I remember Land Rover recommending a L.I. of 110 or higher for this morbidly obese vehicle. It may be plenty for the much lighter new Sport and Range Rover, though...
That will be interesting to see since, as far as I know the new Sport and Range Rover, are both limited to 19" wheels as the smallest OEM diameter (just like the LR4.) Perhaps they plan on fitting these hybrids with smaller brakes, but that wouldn't make much sense since these vehicles are...
Well, this article from Car and Driver seems to put the question of whether these hybrids will be available in the US to rest (Hint: no)

LAND ROVER EXPEDITION AMERICA: UPDATE 5
August 21, 2013

What size Duratracs are y'all taking about? Unlike Europe, AFAIK there is no 19" Duratrac available in North America, and at over 32" in diameter even the smallest 18" (275/65/18) will rub a fair bit on a stock LR3/4 without modifications / lifts. And you'll need to put your spare on the roof or...

Hey Paul, they ran Black Bear Pass a couple of days ago. Can't wait to see more photos, that trail is as great a background as it gets. Here is one off Instagram they posted yesterday:
Remember this? Different angle, nicer weather, same place... Ah, memories. :)
Lots of armchair quarterbacking on this thread. If Toyota was doing this, everyone here would be bitching at how Land Rover has lost its appeal and doesn't do anything cool anymore. They are making this run in essentially bone stock vehicles, if that doesn't speak to the "everyman" that such an...
