    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

geronracing, your rig is impressive indeed. "modified" would be an understatement! I'm inspired to do more mods to mine! Where are you located as you mentioned being local. PM me if you'd like. Right now I'm (again), on the fence on whether to get a Warn 9.5k winch with the Hidden Winch...

    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

Ah...I see you have experienced first hand the stupidity of the GMC engineers who designed that mechanism. As far as pulling your 2000lb trailer, you should have no problem with the Hitchgate. It's rated for 7500lb max towing.

February 2016 Kel Suu, Kyrgyzstan Trip

Honestly, I have yet to try an inflate the spare. I guess I should do it in the safety of my driveway before having to deal with it on the road or trail. I don't think a donut would fit in that space. I'll probably just get a full sized spare and throw it on the roof whenever we head out on...

Amazing photos! Such a beautiful place. Love your lake shots. I came across your thread while searching for VW Touareg posts. I really hate the "inflate it when you need it" spare that comes with the Touareg.

Gen 2.5 Mitsubishi Montero 2000 - Over-landing Family Truck - long term enhancement

Love your rig! Just curious about the front part of your snorkel where it attaches to the front fender. Is it supposed to stick out like that...like it's not flush with the body panel.

    Trooper, Montero, and what else?

I agree with you. Gen 3 is a perfectly capable and good looking rig as well. Stronger motor too.

    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

The batteries are isolated and run independent of each other when the engine is off. When the engine is on, the Stinger Isolator charges both at the same time. When the engine if off, and as long as the accessories you are using are hooked up to the auxiliary battery, you can't run down your...

Montero Gen2.5/Gen3 parts and accessories from Philippines

Robert, thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll be hitting Manila sometime in the last 2 weeks of April and then probably heading straight to Batangas. I'll probably be back in Manila after a week and may have time for part hunting. You mentioned that stuff is either hard to get or...

If you want the wheel/tire to really be flush with the fenders go with 17x9's. Thanks for your comments on the K&N. I'll make sure the swap out to the OEM paper filter before going on an offroad trip.

    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

Thanks for the kind words. At first I was looking at the fairly common black wheels with the bead lock styling...then I came across the Level 8 MK6 wheels in bronze and had to have them.

    Trooper, Montero, and what else?

That Gen2.5 is a beauty. I would love to build one like it. The Gen2.5's are hard to come by nowadays. I'll just have to be patient and keep looking....or settle for Gen3.
