Yes... this T100 (1996) came stock with the 5VZ-FE, and in this case, the engine was replaced with the same model engine out of a 4Runner. They swapped the oil pan (4runner's and T100's have different pans and sump locations due to differences in the front end), but must not have realized until...
Hopefully someone can help me out here. I picked up a T100 that just had a newer engine out of a 4Runner put into it. Everything looks good, except for after the engine was installed, it was realized that there is a different dipstick location for the T100 because of the different oil pan...
I got the free Micron knife in the mail today from SOG after taking the survey a few months ago.
I now see why they call it the "Micron"... it's roughly the size of a house key- kind of novel really. What do I expect for free though, right?
Anybody else receive theirs yet?
Edit: Added photo...
KC-
You always crack me up. I'm right there with you though, in my head it looks awesome. However, in someone's else's head the Bertone Stratos also looked awesome, but once they made it, it looked a lot like a doorstop. I don't really want to end up in that situation, so I thought I'd discuss...
Does anyone have any pictures of a flatbed on a T100? I found a truck that's been in an accident and needs a bed (or bedside). I was thinking though... how about a flatbed? For my application, a flatbed would be very practical, and likely about the same price (or less) to fab as it would be to...
Yeah, I feel the same way. The good news is that I was having second thoughts about being a "4Runner guy," and that the sale felt right. It's kind of like I got paid to do a 3 week test drive of the rig.
So I've gone through the new Aisin hubs and they are now working super smooth... at least on the bench. For the time being though that's where they'll stay- on the bench. The reason for that is because of the latest mod to my 4Runner... a fair sized stack of crisp green bills in my pocket, and...
After a tear-down and a bit of cleanup, here's the worse of the two hubs:
All said and done, I think it looks pretty good. Now I just have to wait for the o-ring and gaskets to arrive from Toyota.
I was also able to order some stainless allen head metric cap screws from Fastenal, which...
Thanks for the links! I took the hubs apart yesterday, and they're pretty straight forward. I cleaned them up pretty well using a parts washer tank with a brush, and they came out pretty good. They are far from cosmetically perfect, complete with a couple of big dings from rocks on the flange...
On Saturday I went to go pick some morels up towards Mt. Hood, and had the pleasure of the first off-pavement trip in the 4Runner. It handles well, has great visibility, and I was generally very satisfied with its performance... that is until I shifted into 4WD.
In one of those steep and loose...
I'd say check your ball joints, but they typically get looser rather than tighter as time goes on. So instead, I'll suggest that you check your steering damper. More than one time I've seen a steering damper (once on a 4Runner and several other times on other cars) with just a very slightly bent...
